"See you," he texted, and put his phone down.
'Miles, dinner's ready!' his mother shouted frok downstairs.
'Coming!' Miles called, standing up and hurrying downstairs into the kitchen. -
(Idk what else to do for now, so timeskip to monday-)
-Monday night-
After a quick glare to her sisters to keep quiet, she opened the window and crawled across the tree to Miles' window, which she tapped upon. -
Miles was playing his cello. He sat in front of a music stand with his back turned to the window, and jumped when he heard a tapping.
He stood and opened the window, saying to Amber, 'Hello.' -
"Hi there." Amber says with a wave as she climbs into his room. "How've you been?" She asks.
-
'As good as I've been able to manage,' he said with a shrug. 'You?'
-
"Pretty good. Siblings being nuisances, but otherwise, good." She said with a chuckle.
-
Miles smiled and closed his window, then leaned his cello against the wall. 'That's good,' he said.
-
Amber stood there awkwardly, wanting to fill the silence but not knowing what to say.
-
'Um,' he muttered, pulling over his chair and setting his music stand off to the side. 'So, how was school?'
-
"Same as always. Skylar spreading rumors about everyone who crosses her, pop quizzes, etc, etc." Amber rolled her eyes at the mention on Skylar.
-
'Right,' Miles said, nodding slowly. 'What happened between you two, anyway? Not that you have to answer, I'm just curious.'
-
"I never found out." Amber says. "But i do have theories. Maybe it was because of that guy. We weren't that bad before him, but then that happened. I'm guessing she was jealous."
-
'Huh,' he muttered. 'I thought you two would've had a falling out or something. Anyway, your sisters are staring at us through the window and it's freaking me out,' he said, pointing out the window.
-
(OMG- XD)
Amber looked back at the window, and, sure enough, her sisters were staring at them. She glared at the until they moved away, then sighed. "Sorry. And we weren't every exactly friends, so we couldn't have had a falling out." She explained quietly. -
(LOL)
'That's OK,' he said, sitting down on the chair he pulled over. 'And sorry about Skylar. I kind of wish we were at the same school so I could help you deal with her.'
