Amber looked back at the window longingly, then noticed Miles watching her. She pulled out her phone, quickly texting him. "I'm guessing you heard that, didn't you?"

"Yeah," Miles texted back. "Are you OK?"

"I guess so. Unfortunately i can't come back over there through the window..."

"You could use the door? Say you were visiting a friend?"

"... how did i forget that-"

"Haha. Do you think your mother would let you?"

"probably. she didn't ban me from leaving the house, luckily."

"Good." He checked the time a did a double-take. "It's late, we should probably sleep." he texted her.

"You're right." She texted, after checking the time herself. "Goodnight, Miles."

"Goodnight, Amber." Miles put his phone away and closed the window after waving to Amber, then changed into his pyjamas and got into bed.

Amber climbed into bed, ignoring her sisters, who were staring. "You like him, don't you?" One asked, as the other went to do something in another room. "I... Don't know." Amber replied, not facing the sister, who had sat down on her bed, sweeping the hair off her sister's forehead and trying to dry her tears, which Amber hadn't noticed were falling from her eyes.

Miles pulled the covers to his neck, staring at the wall as he rolled onto his side. He frowned at the new coat of white paint, and thought back to Amber.

"just so you know, it wasn't my idea to tell mom. Jessica did, without telling me she was going to." The sister said, referencing her twin. Amber turned around to face her. "Really?" She asked. "Yes. I'm the one who believes love needs time to brew, and that time needs to be spent together." She poked her younger sisters nose, smiling at her, then leaving to get ready for bed.
-the next day.-
"Hey." Amber texted Miles before school. -
Miles had overslept, and the sound of the text had woken him up. He jumped and checked his phone.
"Good morning." he texted Amber, then rushed to get his clothes on. -
"did i wake you?" Amber asked, hoping she hadn't.
