"true." Amber said. She didn't know how to go about this. She heard a sigh in the hallway as her sister passed and said "she likes you" in a sing song voice.

Miles glanced at the door. 'Was that your sister?'

"Yes?" Amber said. "You're an idiot if you can't see it!" Her sister yelled from the stairs. "stay out of it, Lauren!"

Miles raised his eyebrows. 'Is she being serious..?' he asked, looking back to Amber, a little bewildered. 'Or is she just making fun of the fact I'm your male friend?'

"Uhm... I think she's serious?" She said in a small, embarrassed voice.

'So you actually...' Miles trailed off, turning a little red.

"Yea, i think so..." Amber said, beet red herself.

Miles swallowed nervously, staring at Amber with a very red face. 'Th-that's good to know...'

Amber tapped her nails on the table, an awkward silence filling the room once more.

"Yea, i guess..." Amber said, slightly embarrassed and very red. -
Miles fiddled with his hands. 'So...' he mumbled, unsure of what to say. He didn't know how he felt about Amber, but the more he thought about it the more he wanted to be more than a friend to her.

"...so...?" Amber repeated, a slightly hopeful tone in her voice.

'Well, what if I asked you out?' Miles asked sheepishly. 'Heh... That'd be crazy, wouldn't it?'
