Miles chuckled, picking up one of the pups, who jumped out and licked his cheek. 'Eww!' he laughed, wiping off dog saliva with the back of his hand.

Amber laughed a bit, picking up some of the pups. "What, don't like dogs?"

'I do, just not puppy spit,' he chuckled, letting the dog in his arms.

"Eh, i don't mind." Amber said, snuggling the cute balls of fluff.

Miles sat down, still stroking the puppy in his arms. 'There are a lot of dogs here.'

"Yea. This shop has been forgotten, mostly. The poor pups don't get much love anymore, apart from the occasional kid or visit from me." Amber said sadly. "there are cats, too. Not as many, though." She said, "hm... I wonder if Whiskers is still here..." She muttered to herself.

'So long as the cats don't try to kill me,' Miles said, watching as the pup sat in his lap. 'My grandma had a cat. It hated me with all of its hostile heart,' he said with a slight chuckle.

"The violent ones are locked, more towards the back. The sweet ones are closer." She explains.

'Cool,' he said with a smile, then grimaced as one of the other dogs licked his knee to get his attention.

"Come on, we should see the cats before the dogs try to take a bite out of you." Amber laughed.

Miles laughed. 'Yeah, they might have me for dinner,' he chuckled, pushing one of the puppies off him and standing.

The puppy looked up at him with confused puppy eyes, like 'why you push me?' And Amber chuckled at that. She opened one of the crates that were eye level with her, pulling out a grey cat with a white chest, paws, and tip of her tail. "This one's named Nia." She says, holding the cat out to Miles. "Wanna hold her?"

'Alright,' he said, holding Nia in his arms. 'She's kinda cute.'

Amber nodded. "She's one of my favorites. She's been here a while, after she got hit by a car and somehow survived."
(i'm basing this cat after a real cat i had a while back, she actually did get hit by a car and survived with only a broken hip-) -

'Woah,' he said, looking down at the cat in his arms. 'That's pretty cool.'
