'Mm,' Echo mumbled, rubbing her eyes. She married her page with a bookmark and tucked it in her bag, then slung it over her shoulder and pulled on her boots.

Heath opened the door and looked around one last time. "ok, we're good." he waits for Echo to walk out and then shuts the door behind her, walking down the hallway toward where the dining room supposedly is.

Echo followed him down the hallway to where the dining room - or bar - was. She slung the bag over her shoulder and glanced around. -
"seems to be an assembly line type thing." he gets in line with her and starts walking down the line. grabbing as much food as possible without it seeming sus (https: //www. youtube.com/watch?v= YDj3JHtIviQ)

Echo raised her eyebrows. 'You're going to eat all that?' she said, taking a bread roll.

"nope," Heath says simply, looking around before putting most of the food in his bag. "it's free food, why not make the most of it?"

Echo took a bite from her bread roll and dropped theropod after that, waiting for Heath to finish stuffing his backpack with food.

(i'm confused why you said theropod... isn't that a dinosaur with 3 toes that eats meat?)
a scruffy old man walks over to where Echo and Heath are right before Heath is about to ask Echo if she is ready to leave and starts making small talk. "well, you two are quite a young couple, aren't you? what brings you to this town?" he starts asking. Heath looks at Echo for something to say, a bit confused, but also amused at the same time. -

Echo's eyes widened at the old man, then when she noticed Heath's expression she glared and said in a voice so cold, 'We're not.' -
(what was it supposed to be? idk what the sentence even says lol)
"yup, just buds. and we were planning to leave right now actually. we were just here on business." he give Echo a look that says "ok, time to go", says goodbye to the old man politely, and starts the head for the exit -
("... and dropped the topic after that, waiting for...")
Echo followed him towards the exit, but a hand grasped her shoulder and she turned around to look at the figure. It was one of the three burly men that had been following them.

(ohhh, that makes sense, theropod just made the whole thing confusing)
Heath didn't realize that the stalkers were there, and didn't realize that Echo wasn't walking with him until after he had left the building. after realizing, he went straight back in the building and made the "😱" face. not really knowing what to do, as those three could easily overpower him. what did the men want? why were they still there? -
Echo pulled away from the man's grip, stumbling backwards. He tried to get hold of her again, but this time Echo kicked him in the groin and ran.
