"that would be a good idea." Heath takes a blanket out of his bag and lays it on the forest floor. "milady?" he makes a gentlemanly gesture for her to have a seat, then brings out some bacon and eggs from breakfast
(i just realized they didn't eat lunch😱) -

Echo narrowed his eyes at him but sat on the blanket, setting her bag on the ground. -
Heath sits down next to her, handing her a stolen plate with some food. "i know you think i'm a thief," he pauses, and sighs, "but i only steal to survive. and if i were dead," he takes a bite of bacon. "you would never have met this handsome devil." he wiggles his eyebrows and laughs

'Handsome devil is debatable,' Echo said, taking a bite from a fried egg.

Heath put's his hand over his heart, mocking being hurt for the second time with this girl. "gasp, how you pain me so, you vile, fickle, evil creature." he chuckles, continuing to eat delicious bacon, yum -
Echo raised her eyebrows and finished off her bacon. She ignored his statement and glanced up at the now dark sky, spotted with stars. 'I'm tired,' she said, laying down. 'I'm gonna go to sleep, you keep watch.'

'I don't want to,' Echo replied, eyes closed. 'But you haven't killed me yet, so kinda.'

after what feels like hours, Heath starts to get very tired, but hears a twig snap right before he falls asleep, which startles him awake again. he whips his head around, searching for where the sound came from, taking a pocket knife out of his bag and standing up

A silhouette emerged from the shadows, the shape of it being some kind of wolf or dog. Another twig snapped then nothing - the shadow had disappeared.

Heath leans down very slowly and pokes Echo until she wakes up, whispering "don't make any sudden movements, something is here." he stands up straight again, looking around, hoping to catch a glimpse of whatever was watching them
