Kai smiled. “It’s getting late.” He said, looking at the sunset. “Do you want me to take you to your house thingy?”

Amira looked confused and, cocking her head answered. "House thingy?"

(Sorry about my grammar, cocking her head, answered*.)

Kai nodded. “For lack of a better word. They’re really small and cramped, but they’re considered a house so….. house thingy.” He said, mad at himself for being so confusing. -
Amira gave him a what she hoped was a comforting smile and stood up. "Thanks, and yes please" she responded.

Kai stood up. “Your house would be the third one.” He said, partially to himself, and led her to her house.

"Thanks" Amira stated following Kai along the dusty path. The house thingy, like Kai had described it was a small shed-like room.
"So, where are the bathrooms, are they in the houses or somewhere else?" She asked. -
“They’re over there.” Kai said, pointing at a small area a few feet away with a couple outhouses. “Any more questions?”

"No thanks, I'm good" Amira smiled and walked over to her hut.

Kai smiled, and walked to his own house, Aaron right behind him.
“Did you see how young she was?” Aaron asked. “She looks about your age!” Kai nodded sadly, and they both got to their house. -
Amira entered her hut. It was very small with a thin mattress shoved into one corner, a sheet covering it and a rather flat pillow. She collapsed on the mattress, glad she was safe, for now at least.

Kai and Aaron both went to bed, Kai falling asleep nearly the moment his head hit the pillow.

Amira must have fallen asleep at some point because when she opened her eyes next it was daylight. She stretched out her legs and got up. She opened the door and went outside looking around for where she might get some food.
