Kai noticed her expression. “Hey, it’s ok.” He tried thinking of something comforting or funny to say, but couldn’t think of anything.

Amira shrugged. "I'm useless at speaking, I always say the wrong thing" she sighed taking another bite of the bread.

Kai shrugged. “It’s fine, I don’t mind much.” He tried to flash a comforting smile.

Amira nodded. "So, what do you guys normally do now?" She asked rubbing the crumbs of her hands.

“Normally me and Aaron try to interact with people.” Kai said. “Key word being try, because Aaron’s a little shy talking to people.”

"Okay, well I can help. I have a little sister to and she's also very shy" As soon as she said it, she regretted it. The thought of her younger sister sprung tears to her ears but she wiped them away furiously, then turned to Kai, a fake smile on her face.

Kai knew immediately that Amira’s smile was fake. “Hey, don’t hide your emotions. I know what it feels to have to leave someone behind.”

Amira felt comforted by his words. "Thanks, I'm sure it's horrible for you too, is there anything I can do to help?" She asked.

Kai shook his head, but smiled sadly. “No, but thanks anyway.” He said.

"Okay, but I'm sure I can help Aaron make some friends, let me try, please?" She cocked her head at Kai, her hands up in a begging gesture.

Kai chuckled and nodded. “Of course you can help him.” He said, standing up and brushing the dirt off of his pants.

"Thanks" Amira smiles then blushed realising how cringe she would of sounded. She went up to two boys, one of them around Aaron's age, the other slightly older. Brother's perhaps.
"Hi guys, I'm Amira. Don't you think it's a bit boring being stuck here with nothing to do?"
The younger boy nodded. "Yes, very"
Amira chuckled... "Well how about you make friends with this little boy and then you won't be as bored, you guys can all play a game together, how does that sound?" She suggested trying to sound friendly. -
*Smiled

Kai watched as Amira was helping Aaron talk to the two little boys, and eventually Aaron was playing with them like he knew them for years.
“How’d you do that?” He asked Amira. “It’s taken AGES for Aaron to feel comfortable talking to kids!” -
Amira shrugged. "I just asked" she smiled then turned to face Kai. "What do you want to do?"
