(Wanna time skip to the next day soon?)
Amira sighed laying down on the thin mattress thinking about everyone and everything she had left behind. Even worse, she was leaving behind her parents and little sister. It was impossible to think about it. -
(Yeah)
The adult looked at him in sympathy. “I’m sorry.” They said, and Kai just shrugged.
“Well, it’s time for me and Aaron to get back to our house anyway. Aaron!”
Aaron came running, and they both walked to their house. -
Tuesday arrived WAY too quickly. Amira went around again finding a slice of bread from them all- this time trading one of her rings to a middle-aged woman for two slices and nicking one of the ground when she fall it fall from the tray. Fourtuntly Amira had good eyes and quick reflexes so she able to retrieve it without anyone seeing her.
-
Aaron and Kai both slept through the night, this time with no nightmares, which was a first.
They both woke up fairly early like they always did.
“Kai, did you hear the news?” Aaron asked. “One of the kids said that someone new is coming in today!”
Kai smiled, but he knew that a new refuge meant the camp would be more crowded, and that it wasn’t exactly good news for them either. -
Amira sighed fiddling with her thumbs- she had already packed her bag. Not that there was much to pack anyway. Andrea took her daughter's hand. "You'll be there by late evening. It's time to say goodbye to your Father" she whispered tears in her eyes.
Amira nodded not daring to speak and followed her Mother into the male block. -
“What do you think they’re gonna be like?” Aaron asked, looking at Kai.
“I don’t know.” Kai said. “Probably a bit shaken up by everything happening in Syria.” After all, Kai knew he still was, and he left two months ago. -
She hugged her Father, said a few words in Arabic- the language she spoke back in Syria then left the male block. She lifted Dalia up and kissed her forehead. She hugged her Mother until the man dragged her away from her. This time she couldn't stop the tears pouring down her cheeks as she was forced into the bot along with thirty other people. It was so crowded. Amira felt very claustrophobic trapped underneath the seats of the boat.
-
“Hey, did you have any nightmares tonight?” I asked Aaron, and he shook his head.
“I didn’t have any dreams.” He said, sounding relieved. -
So the boat traveled on, Amira knew it had only been ten minutes but it felt like an hour. Trapped on the planks on the boat surrounded by strangers. She shivered a little, wrapping her jacket tighter around her.
-
“Good.” Kai told Aaron. “I didn’t either.”
Aaron grinned. “It’s good luck!” And Kai laughed. -
An hour went by. Nothing happened. Two hours. Still nothing. Three hours-the boat started to shake, threatening to tip over. Amira had to cling to the side of the boat to stay on. She had put a life-jacket on earlier but she didn't want to risk falling in, the water was deadly cold. She helped a few younger children who had fallen in back on the boat, and made sure all the adults were able to get help from others before turning back to her seat. She took a deep breath and realised she was shivering even though the air was unusually humid. We should be here soon, she thought as they continued to crash through the waves.
-
Aaron looked at Kai. “What do you wanna do today?” He asked.
“I don’t know.” Kai responded. There wasn’t much to do besides meet new people. “You can play with those other kids.”
“But I don’t want to!” Aaron protested. “I want to stay with you and meet the new person.” -
Finally the boat stopped moving. Amira looked around to see what everyone else was doing. Most of the adults were carrying their children across the water, while they sacrificed they shoes. She wished she was small enough to be carried. With a sigh she trekked through the water, her toes freezing as she did so until she reached the slope of grass, where a truck was waiting to take them presumably to the Turkey Refuge Camp.

Kai looked at Aaron. “You sure you don’t want to hang out with the other kids?” He asked, and Aaron nodded. Kai sighed. “Fine, you can stay with me.”
Aaron lit up. “YES!”
