Natsuki nodded, sitting up straight. She pulled out her phone and wrote, 'What do you want to know?", then passed it to Nik.
-
“Just the basics I guess,” he said.”y’know, ‘hi, how are you, bye,’ that kinda stuff.”
-
Nat nodded, figuring he already knew what yes and no was in normal gestures. She wrote: "How are you?" on her phone and set it on the ground so he could see, then moved her hands around to show him.
(Dammit I gtg! I'll try and get back on later today or tomorrow, byee!) -
(It’s ok, I had to leave too, bye!)
Nikolai mimicked the hand motions, trying to get it perfect. After 4 tries he finally got it right, and looked at Nat, beaming. -
Natsuki beamed back at him. She knew he didn't need to know the sign language, he just needed to understand it, but it strangely comforted her to know he was willing to learn. She pulled out her phone and tried to think of the next one they could work on.
-
“Can you teach me how to say ‘I love you?’” Nikolai asked, fidgeting with his hands and blushing slightly. “Sorry, that’s a weird question, you probably don’t want to teach me that…”
-
Natsuki's cheeks burned bright red and she looked down, fiddling with her hands.
-
“I thought you wouldn’t want to,” Nikolai said, embarrassed. “I don’t know why I asked.”
-
(You disappeared 😭)
-
(I was at school 😭
Got holidays in a few weeks, tho 😀)
Natsuki glanced back up at him, and showed him the sign language for 'I love you', cheeks still burning. -
(We keep losing each other 😭)
-
(Ik I had to go to bed I’m sorryyyyyy)
Nikolai mimicked the hand movements, his face hot and blushing like crazy. After a bit, he got it, and he smiled proudly.
“Thanks.” He said to Nat. “But you didn’t have to do that. If I make you uncomfortable with a sign or something, you don’t have to show me the sign.” -
Natsuki just shrugged and gave a small smile, still blushing a bit. She tilted her head to the side again, ready to work on the next one.
-
“Could we do something like ‘yes and no’ just so that I know that you don’t like something?” Nikolai asked. “Although I guess you can just nod or shake your head…”
-
Natsuki shrugged, and decided against showing him the signs for yes and no. It was difficult learning a new language, and she knew it would be hard for Nikolai to remember it all.
Her face lit up with an idea, and she shuffled closer to her bookshelf to grab the first Star Wars movie DVD. She shuffled back next to Nikolai and held it up in a 'Do you want to?' way.
