Nik carefully placed the blanket over Natsuki again, and relaxed, looking up at the ceiling.

Natsuki didn't have another nightmare, and slept soundly for some time.

Nikolai didn’t know what to do while Natsuki slept, since he couldn’t move or else she might wake up, so he just gently played with her hair, curling one of the strands with his finger.

After a while, Nat woke again. She stirred and opened her eyes, looking up at Nik.

Nikolai smiled. “Hey beautiful.” He said quietly, brushing a strand of hair behind Nats ear.

Natsuki blushed and smiled, shuffling a little closer to him.

“So what d’you wanna talk about?” Nik asked, adjusting his position so that he felt more comfortable while not moving Nat much.

Natsuki just shrugged, fiddling with the end of the sheet.

Nik played with Natsuki’s hair more, this time braiding a strand of it, but he didn’t have any hair ties, so by the time he finished, it just undid itself all over again.

Natsuki gave him a hairtie that she'd put around her wrist, noticing he was braiding her hair.

Nikolai grinned, braiding her hair again, this time using the hair tie so that it’d stay.
“Perfect.” He said, smiling as he finished. -
Nat smiled and felt the braid in her hair, careful not to untie it.

Nik grinned, relaxing fully. “What else do you wanna do?”

Natsuki shrugged, before getting an idea and pulling out her phone. She opened the notes app and wrote, "Do you want to go to the park?".

Nik nodded, and listened carefully to make sure his parents weren’t in the other room before leaving his bedroom.
