"I'm taking the couch. I still have manners, you know," Ander replied with a hint of playfulness, although he was weary. He lifted Robo up and set him on the floor, which made the dog whine pitifully.
"Oh, don't be a baby. You know you're just fussing because Kenna's watching you," Ander protested. The dog dramatically flopped on the floor with a whimper, glancing over to see if Kenna was paying attention. -
Kenna let out a small chuckle and shook her head. She stood up, feeling slightly dazed from tiredness. She couldn't wait to fall asleep. "Where's the bedroom?" she asked Crypta.
-
Crypta pointed down a short hallway nearby with a crowbar. "You go that way and turn right. Not left, mind you, but right," she said, before stubbornly trying to screw something into the thing she was tinkering with. "Extra blankets are in the closet if you need 'em. Oh and by the way." She lowered her voice to a whisper. "I'll bet Andy hasn't given you much in the way of "fitting clothing." I'll give you some things to try on tomorrow morning."
Ander crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow at Crypta. "You know I can still hear you. You're not very good at whispering." -
A smile came across Kenna's face. Ignoring his comment she said, "Good night, Ander," looking at him for a moment. "And thank you, Crypta, really."
She drowsily made her way down the hallway until she came to an intersection. Left? Right? Maybe left. She turned left and walked a few steps before remembering right, NOT left. Directions were her nemesis, especially when she was tired.
She made a U-turn and went the correct way. There was a bedroom door in plain sight. She went inside, took off her shoes, and fell onto the bed, immediately passing out. -
Robo trotted after her, his tongue lolling out. He growled softly when she walked a little to the left, before panting happily when she went the right way again. He clambered up onto the bed, flopping down next to her and slowly playing an old-timey sounding song like a dying record.
Crypta turned to Ander, taking the gloves off of her hands and setting them down on her work table. She looked up from it, her gaze uncertain. "Andy, can we trust her?"
Ander glanced over at the direction Kenna had gone, hearing nothing but soft breathing and the quiet music Robo was playing. He turned back to Crypta. "I don't know yet. But...I think so."
Crypta smiled reassuringly, patting his shoulder even though she was a few inches shorter than he was. "Get some rest. It's been a long night for you two, and we have a lot to catch up when morning comes."

(By the way in case you forgot it's a romance lol)
Kenna woke up naturally, but didn't want to get out of bed. When was the last time she had been this comfortable?
Eventually she gathered up her willpower and threw the covers to the side. Sitting up, she looked around for her cane. Where had it gone?
Kenna let out a groan when she realized what happened. Had she really been so careless as to let her cane roll under the bed?
"Alright then," she muttered to herself. She set one hand on the edge of the bed and another on the end table next to it and lowered herself down until she was on her knees.
Kenna looked under the bed and through the dust lo and behold was her cane on the other side of the bed.
She wasn't going to crawl to the other side of the bed, so she got onto her stomach and scooted her way through the dust and grabbed her cane with a feeling of triumph. -
Lol true, I'm trying to balance between "Slowly developing a relationship based on trust and friendship" and " WE DON'T HAVE TIME, HURRY UP SPICE"))
Robo watched the whole thing with his head tilted, letting out a curious whine. The metallic canine sniffed at her, until dust suddenly zoomed into his nostrils. He let out a mighty sneeze, powerful enough that it shot him back a little.
Ander and Crypta were talking in hushed voices with cups of coffee, the conversation stopping when they heard a small explosion in Kenna's room. -
(XD)
Kenna squiggled herself out from under the bed, covered in dust. She coughed to get it out of her throat.
She gave Robo a weird look. "You're a robot, how are you affected by dust? -
Robo gave her an unimpressed look, shaking himself out as dust floated around them. "Nostrils required for proper ventilation of steam. Initiating sneeze." He fired off like a cannon again, blasting himself off of the bed.
Ander rapped on the door, leaning against the doorframe with a cup of coffee in his other hand. "Is everything okay in there? Are you-" he cleared his throat uncomfortably. "Are you decent?" -
Kenna walked over to the door with her now acquired cane and opened the door. "Robotic dogs can sneeze!" she said, finding it an odd segment of information.
-
Ander chuckled in amusement at her expression, glancing over at Robo. The poor dog has managed to fling himself onto the floor, sniffing. At least the dust seemed to have cleared. "'Course they can. How else would they get things out of their noses otherwise?"
Robo got back to his paws, headbutting Ander in greeting. He wobbled a little, nearly spilling his coffee before regaining his balance. "Crypta said sometimes he sneezes fire, which is a bit of an issue in a wooden cottage. He seems to be fine now though. She also said something about having clothes for you?" -
"Right, she did," Kenna said as she began wiping the dust off her body. "Where is she?"
-
"She's in the kitchen," Ander said, before looking at Kenna with an odd expression. He looked slightly puzzled. "You know, you're taking all of this surprisingly well."
-
Kenna swallowed and looked away from him. "It's easier to pretend than to face reality," she said. She didn't want to face the horrors she had experienced the night before. So she was just acting as if everything was normal to make it seem that it was.
-
Ander studied her expression, looking pensive. "I get that," he said quietly. "But you'll have to face it eventually. It isn't good to hold it all in. You have to accept it and then learn how to keep going eventually, or you'll be...stuck."
