(Oo right right!)
“And when did I say that?!” Roxy yelled. -
"Last week," Asteria said. "There was a boy playing with his new puppy and you were just cooing over how adorable it was."
-
“Well yes, but Martino’s more of a bulldog!”
-
"You said as a general statement that puppies are cute. Thus, you have called Martino cute. Funny, because just a minute ago you called him a dragon."
-
“Are you saying I called him smoking hot?!” Roxy screeched. Her eyes widened significantly after the words had been blurted out, and she swiftly slapped her hands over her mouth, blushing furiously.
Martino hid his mouth behind his white glove, desperately trying to conceal his amused smirk. These two ladies were definitely very interesting. -
"Your words not mine," Aster commented with a mischievous grin on her face. She was considering taking Roxy out of the room before she died of embarrassment, but this was getting too good.
-
"Well, in that case, I'd consider you 'a cute adorable puppy’ as well, Ms. Roxanne.” Martino hummed, his eyes scanning her face for any reaction, a sadistic grin printed on his face. It was clear to both girls that he was taking immense pleasure in Roxy's suffering.
Roxy gasped and shuffled closer to Asteria.
"Do you think he's flirting with me?" She hissed, keeping her voice to a low whisper. -
"Yeah, stupid," Aster said with a grin knocking the side of her friend's head.
"I'll leave you two alone," she sang, walking out of the room. She wanted to go see Quince specifically without Roxy tearing off his head. -
“Asteria, NOO!” Roxy squealed out as her friend shut the door.
Meanwhile, Quince was sitting down in his office, sorting through papers. His eyebrow visibly twitched in annoyance as he sorted through each slip of paper, groaning in frustration as he came across more. -
Asteria wandered around, still not knowing the layout of the place. She rounded another corner and there at the end of the hall was a door opened just wide enough that she could see a desk and an armchair. Maybe he was in there. She peeked her head in and there was Quince, his blonde hair messy from running his hands through it multiple times, his arms tensed in frustration. Not knowing whether she should come in or walk away and leave him be, she just stared.
-
It took Quince a few moments before he realized that Asteria was watching him. He was busy sorting through the papers, but subconsciously looked up and saw her standing in the doorway. His eyes widened slightly as he shoved his business papers away, clasping his hands together on his desk in a business-like way.
“Oh, Asteria. What can I do for you?” He asked, giving her his best professional smile. -
Asteria was thrown off by his sudden change in demeanor. "I - I just wanted to thank you for letting Roxy stay. It means a lot."
-
“It’s only for a short amount of time. It is just a visit, after all. But you’re welcome.” Quince eyed his paperwork nervously. “Is there anything else you wish to say to me? My ears are wide open.”
-
Asteria hesitated. ". . . Are you okay?" she asked. A small part asked her why she had asked that to him. He was the one holding her captive, she shouldn't care whether he was alright or not. But something in her did and the words just slipped right out of her mouth.
-
“Hm? Am I all right?” Quince gazed up at her curiously. “Yes, I’m doing all right. But what about you?”
