Here's the first option
C1 is a kleptomaniac.
One day one of C1's friends suggests they go to a party that the friend was invited to together.
C1 steals something that seems worthless to them, but actually means a lot to C2, the host of the party.
Now C2 is angry at whoever stole the thing, not knowing who it was
C1 feels really guilty about stealing it and tries to return it without C2 noticing, but C2 catches them.
There can be romance, I don't really care
Lemme go grab the other one -
C1, a feisty young adult, is your typical human being. She's currently in college to accomplish her life-long dream.
But all of that flips completely upside down.
C2 is the Capo, the underboss of the Mafia of that particular city. He's attending the same college as C1, just to cover himself up.
Now, C1 is walking to work which is at a local pub, when she passes an empty building (probably a warehouse or something). She hears something suspicious, but instead of calling the police, goes to investigate herself. C1 sees things that should have been left unseen and takes a video of it all.
C2 and his gang finds her there, watching and interfering, so he kidnaps her, and where will our characters go from there? -

C1 is a demon. And a demon's rouge eyes...well, you'd better do your best to not look into them.
They lock onto your soul. They see everything about you, your deepest darkest fears, secrets, everything. They bring the wrath of Hell with them. They hold such hate, such malice. They have an intense, vile passion to kill in horrific and impossible ways. They hold a power that can't be stopped, something that makes you feel so insignificant, you might as well not exist.
C2, is a human. They meet C1 and look into C1's eyes.
And is completely unaffected. -
