"Roxy!" Asteria gasped, her face growing the lightest unnoticeable shade of pink. She shook her head with a small smile and then turned her attention to Carlos.
"I wanted to introduce you to Roxanne, but we all call her Roxy for short. "She's my friend, so she'll be coming over once in a while." She was surprised that he wasn't angry at her, threatening to throw her out of the kitchen in a rage or something like that. Maybe he just didn't want to make a show in front of Roxy. -
Carlos glanced at Roxy for a second and raised a single eyebrow at her bold words. He chuckled and threw a wink at Asteria.
“Oh? Does that mean you think I’m attractive?” Carlos teased. “Well, it’s a pleasure to meet Ms. Asteria’s friend.” -
"I just told you her name," Aster rolled her eyes. She then eyed the cookbook. "What's for breakfast?"

Carlos chuckled lightly and picked up the cookbook. He flipped through the colorful pages for a bit before he stopped at a picture of toast with a slab of avacado on it along with a fried egg. He turned the book so it could be within Asteria's line of sight and grinned, pointing at the picture.
"Avocado toast! Of course, there'll be sides such as pancaked and bacon. The whole bang toot."
Roxy could feel her mouth water at the sight of the delicious looking toast. "It's very fancy." She said. -
"Do you want any help?" Asteria asked. "You'd have to make sure Roxy doesn't snitch any foot but other than that we'd be able to help."

"Hey!” Roxy glared playfully at Asteria and nudged her in the ribs with her elbow. “The cake incident was a while ago. I don’t snatch food anymore!”
Carlos’s expression turned dark. He glared at Roxanne. It was hard to determine whether his sudden change in attitude was meant as a joke or not. “The food must be complete before we take a single bite out of it.” -
Asteria laughed at his sudden change in expression. "What can we do to help?" she asked.

Carlos paused and thought about her question for a second. Suddenly, it was as if a lightbulb went off in his head.
“You two could be my tastetesters.” Carlos said enthusiastically with a grin. -

Asteria smiled. "Alright then." She sat down on a stool, Roxy sitting next to her as they waited for Carlos to make the food. -

(When Astoria asked if she could do anything to help I had half a mind of making Carlos ask for a kiss, but the one logical brain cell I have knows it would be slightly out of character and too soon 💀)
Once Carlos had whipped up some delicious looking toast, he placed each piece of bread on the plate and professionally slathered it with avocado and fried eggs, along with sweet tomatoes, a delicate white sauce that’s flavor seemed to pop in your mouth, and a small sprinkle of pepper. He brought the plates over to the two women and placed it on the table, clasping his hands together as he awaited their reactions. -
Aster smiled and raised her toast as a toast to Carlos, then took a big bite.
Immediately her shoulders slumped and she couldn't help but let out a moan at how absolutely delicious it was. She chewed slowly, allowing her tongue to soak up every bit of flavor it could get its taste buds on.
When she swallowed she looked at Carlos and said, "This is by far the best breakfast I've ever had." -
Roxy let out a small squeal when the flavorful toast touched her tastebuds. The avocado was creamy and complimented the flavor of the seasoned bread, and the fried eggs, sweet tomatoes, and white sauce worked hand in hand to make the food an enjoyable experience.
“Really?” Carlos’s lips tugged upwards into an mused smile. His eyes shone bright with pleasure. “That was only a taste test. The real thing will be much better.” -
Asteria's mouth fell open. "I don't think toast could get much better than this," she said, taking a second bite out of her food and letting her eyes close as she savored it.

“Really?” Carlos raised an eyebrow, stunned. “This could be considered a three star dish at best!”

"If this is three star then my cooking is like a quintillionth of a star," she replied in between bites.
