(What if Porak was paying Cassie's dad to not fire him? Her mom doesn't like him, and at some point later in time will probably want to fire him.)
(Also we should probably come up with names for the parents) -

Porak nodded his head, he didn't want to get fired so quickly. -

"Supper will be ready in half an hour," she said. She gave him a curt nod then let him get settled. -

Porak unpacked his things and started decorating. -
Cassandra got up to get a drink of water. On her way to the kitchen she passed Porak's room and saw him unpacking. She paused for a moment before continuing on her trek to the kitchen.
He was really moving in. This was really happening. -
Porak finished decorating. he was bored, and it seemed as if Cassie wasn't in her room. He quietly snuck into her room and started going through her things.

Cassie returned to her room with a glass of water. She jumped in surprise when she saw Porak going through her stuff, about half of her water spilled out. "What are you doing?" she asked angrily -

Porak froze at the sound of her voice. "I accidently threw something in here so I'm trying to find it.' he said. -
"How in the world do you accidentally throw something, then it conveniently lands in my room?" Cassie said. "In something that wasn't open when I left it?"

"Ghosts? You know how they're always coming into houses and creating chaos." he said.

"Get out," Cassandra said, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.

Porak left. He had stuck on of Cassandra's things in his pocket without her knowing.

Cassandra looked through the drawer Porak had been sifting through. There was something in that drawer that was very dear to her and wanted to make sure he hadn't stolen it from her.
He had.
It was a pocket watch. Very expensive, which was why it probably had attracted Porak's eye. But that wasn't why Cassie loved it. It was one of the few things that she had of her parents.
"PORAK" -
Porak was in his room, checking out the watch when he heard his name being called. It looked like her was in trouble.
