"Oh? What if something worse happened. You could get mauled by a werewolf for all we know!" he exclaimed.

"Yes, I'm going to be outside in the middle of the night because that makes sense," Cassie said.

"You never know what teenagers do these days." he muttered.

"Well I'm not a normal person, and you know it," she said.

Her father sighed. "You're normal to me, and that's all that matters." he said.

"Yes, I'm normal," Cassandra said. "I can make flowers turn into butterflies and transform into something different and have magical abilities."

"That would be cool." he said.

"But it's not true, and you know that," she said. "My life has been a game of survival. I'm sure I can take care of myself." -

"I highly disagree. You'll have to wait until you get a husband for that." he declared. -
"Wha - " She then threw her hands up in exasperation. "You're not human. You wouldn't know."

"Are we born as humans when we're born?" her father asked, getting distracted from the conversation.

"I've looked it up, you aren't," Cassie said. Typical of her father, but she was half grateful for the change of subject. "But my parents were human, and thus I was born and am human."

Her father pat her head. "Good child for being smart." he said. -
Cassie had an 'okay then' expression on her face until. Until she saw Porak hiding behind the doorframe of the room. "Excuse me for a second," she said to her father, and stalked towards her 'bodyguard.'

Porak's eyes widened. "Uh oh." he mumbled, preparing to run away.
