"Thanks," she said as she snatched it out of his hand. She sprinkled some on, just enough to give the green beans flavor. She suspiciously touched the beans. "They're cold again." she stuck them in the microwave for a minute.

"Imagine if they burned because you keep sticking it in the microwave. Unfortunately that may only be for ovens." he said. Porak had no clue how to cook or how to work an oven. He had always used a microwave.

"Things don't really burn in the microwave," Cassie said with a roll of her eyes. "The explode."

"Ah, exactly." he said. "Do you want the beans to explode?"

"They won't," Cassandra said knowingly. The microwave beeped and she took out her steaming hot green beans. The container was also burning hot.
"[i]Hot, hot, hot, hot," she said, moving a finger away from the container every time she said 'hot' on her way up the stairs. -
Porak laughed and climbed up after her. "As your bodyguard, perhaps I should be the one to carry the green beans for you." he said.

"The container will be cool in a few seconds," Cassie said. "Especially since I'm moving around with it."It was one of the few things she had said to him that wasn't as if she were fighting a battle against him.

"Ah. Is that science?" he asked. Porak wasn't the smartest.

"I suppose so," Cassie said. "Nearly everything is science."

"Even math?" he said.

Cassie nodded. She went back into her bedroom and sat on the bed with her legs criss-cross-applesauced.

Porak followed her in. "So, this is your room?" he said.

Cassandra nodded affirmative since her mouth was filled with beans. She swallowed and said. "It's rather plain, but I like it."

"Have you ever thought of redecorating? It looks like it could be redecorated." he said.

"No, and I don't want to," she said.
