Porak's eyes widened at the attention he was drawing, so he immediately removed his fangs from Cassie's arm.

Cassie fell to the ground, stunned from blood loss.
A teacher stalked up to the two of them. "We do not attack other students!" she shrilled. "No matter what...species they might be. You will receive detention. Now someone help the girl to the nurse."
After a moment someone stepped forward and helped Cassandra up to the nurse's office. -
Porak rolled his eyes and stalked away. He most definitely was not going to detention, he wanted to leave school and do something reckless.

Cassie was sent home that day and not to come back for another one or two days, depending on how she felt.
Her mom had picked her up and Cassie was able to successfully evade all her pressing questions.
Her dad was there when she got home. Cassie didn't think she'd be able to get out of answering any questions anymore. -
Her father had a big smile on his face, he was ready to greet Cassandra at the door. Horror washed over his face as he saw what state Cassie was in. “What happened to you?!” He exclaimed.

"...Bullies," she eventually said.
"This was even happening at her last school,"Cassie's mom whispered to her husband. -
Her father frowned. “Perhaps we better get someone to protect her.” He whispered back.

"Maybe it would be a good idea."
"Nuh-uh," Cassie said, overhearing their whisperings. "I'm able to take care of myself."
"And just look at you!" Her mom said. "For heaven's sake you've been bitten by a vampire!" -
Her father gave Cassie a weary look. “Darling, we’re trying our best to protect you. Please listen to us and let us get you a bodyguard.” He said.

"How about that Porak?" her mom asked. "He seems nice enough."
"No!" Cassie said a little louder than she meant to. "Anyone but him, please."
"Why not?"
Cassandra could feel herself flushing a little in anger at Porak, but there wasn't enough blood in her system for that. "Because...just...I...ugh," she said. How was she supposed to tell her parents that this guy that 'seemed nice' was.the one that.did this to her?" -
(In case you get confused that isn't supposed to have a quote mark at the very end)

Her father rolled his eyes. "Porak seems to be strong, he will do amazing for our little Cassie." he said with a grin. -
"I don't like charity," Cassandra mumbled, finally finding a reason other.than what it.actually was.
"Oh we'll pay him, of course," her mom said. "Don't you fret, we have it all taken care of." -
Her father nodded his head in approval and went to the phone book the call Porak. “Hello? Is this Porak?” He asked when he got on the phone.
“Yes, yes it is.” Porak answered, a little bit confused at the random stranger who was talking to him. -
Cassie was feeling lightheaded after the 'conversation' that had just happened so she went up to her room to rest. She wondered for how long she would have to have that boy as a guard.
