I don’t want to know what rabbit tastes like OwO)
The meal actually looked rather appetizing to Lares. Awkwardly, he waited for someone else to eat first. -
Erika took one of the wooden plates and put a slice.of the bread and some meat on it. "Megan told me it's a free for all," she said.

"Ah." He smiled nervously and scooped some rabbit onto his plate. Lares nibbled it cautiously, and was surprised to find that the rabbit actually tasted quite fine.

Erina looked at him for a second and then turned away. Lares probably didn't like any of this. The house that was falling apart, the meager food, the dirty stone streets outside, he probably didn't approve.

I could live with being a commoner, Lares thought to himself, taking another bite of the rabbit.

"What do you think?" she asked. -
Hmmm)
"It’s pretty good," he said, but because he had rabbit in his mouth it sounded more like "Ip'f witty wood." -
"This is fancy for us," Erina said.

"It’s fantastic," Lares repeated, but then he looked Erina in the eye. "Wait, really?" He didn’t mean to sound rude. "Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it that way," he apologized softly.

"Don't worry about it," Erina said. "You're used to finer things."

Lares nodded politely in agreement and dug into the bread.

After a while, the small party was over. Erina and Lares had been walking down the street for a few minutes before saying, "Oh I almost forgot! I have to take a pan to the smith to get it mended!"

Lares cocked his head for a minute, confused because of how easily she broke the silence. "Oh," he said with an awkward smile. "Yeah. Of course!"

Erina led him to her home. It was a little smaller than Megan's, but her friend had a larger family. She grabbed one of the pans and walked out the door again.
