Myriad still seemed confused but nodded, crossing his arms "backups for if the eldest dies?"

"I think so," Kate said. She pointed at Kiri in the picture. "He is the heir, and they are the spares."

"Hu. Ok" Myriad said thoughtfully

"What kind of messed up mentality do you guys have?" Kiri said, his brows furrowed. "Heirs and spares...they're just kids you know."

"I mean" Myriad started, glancing at Kiri "one of us isnt human, and the other is a younger member of a gang"

"Ah," Kiri said. "Lovely. I think you two could use a little therapy."

"Whats therapy?" Myriad asked honestly, pulling some bits of wood out of hia pocket and chewing on them. After a second he paused and offered on to Kate

Kate thought it was jerky and took it, but merely pocketed it when she almost broke her teeth on a piece.
"It's a place where people help you fix your problems," Kiri explained with the tone people generally used around children. "You both seem to have quite a few." -
Myriad continued eating the wood, frowning a little. "Im not broken, why would i need fixing?" He said, not understanding

"By regular human standards, you are," Kiri said. Kate made a small scoff of disbelief.

"But im not human" myriad stated simply, hilting his head

"You look like a human to me," Kiri said, confused.

Myriad sighed quietly and stopped eating the wood, looking at Kate. He appeared to be waiting for permission
