Ardis looked at the murky water with a mixture of disgust and intrigue. Suddenly, she slipped on a patch of slimy moss and fell into the bog.

Phen squeakes and moved to help her

Ardis let out a sharp yelp. Something had curled around her ankle.

He hissed ans smack his tail against the water, helping her up

Ardis felt the thing tug against her leg, but she managed to grab Phen's tail. She kicked around until her foot landed on a horribly slimy head. A terrible, gargled shriek pierced the air, and she clambered out.

Phen pulled her back and glared at the thibg

A pair of bulbous yellow eyes appeared at the surface before the creature sunk back into the depths of the bog. Ardis breathed shallowly.
"Thanks," she said. -
Phen watched the water warily. "You ok?"

"Mmhmm," she said, turning her shoe over and watching the water pour out. "Gross!"

Phen gagged and shook himself

Ardis managed to wring her clothes and empty her shoes somewhat. Soaking wet and miserable, she continued to tramp down the path.

Phen walked closer to her

Ardis couldn't wait to get out of the bog. She kept on hitting slippery patches of plant matter and nearly tumbling into the bog again.

Phen frowned and then said ""maybe your should ride one of tge horses

Ardis shook her head. "I'd risk toppling the horse in too," she said. Finally, they reached the end of the bog, and she coughed out the nasty fumes she'd been inhaling.
"That's better," she said, breathing in fresh air.
