Adelaide was now a little nervous. Luwanna new what she was killed for and she shouldn't have, but it was the only way she would consent. Adelaide just hoped she wouldn't say anything.

(Omg, my phone auto corrected and I didn't even catch that! I'M SORRY ENNA
I love her so much)
Fir felt his blood freeze when he saw that Enna set down not one, but two souls. At the mention of his brother, the mortem inhaled sharply, his eyes locked on the extra soul. He couldn't help but feel sorry for Faris; he didn't know the boy well, but Fir knew that the journey that these unlucky Infernum children were headed for would not be easy. -
(Quick note: Everyone comes back without any knowledge of being a soul ball)
Joti's soul finally became humanoid. "JACK COME BACK, HE'S GONNA STAB ME HE'S-" Joti screamed as soon as she was back. But then she looked around and saw the situation, and her yelling died down to a "-he's.. h-he... what the fùck?" Joti asks. She's sitting on the table and looking around the room at what appears to be the council.
Faris comes to as well, but not screaming. He looks a little sad, but overall he stays silent. Faris knows he is there somewhere.. but he doesn't meet eyes with his brother. He's sitting next to Joti.
"Oh god am I dead?" Joti says as she studies her hands. She realized that she had the telltale signs of a soul; the glowiness, the translucency. "I died didn't I? I'll kill him, where is he!" Hornet ducks behind Adelaide to stay out of her line of sight.
"Welcome back," Androni says with a deadpan expression, "Give everyone a second to form, and I'll explain everything. Don't ghoul out on me, just calm down for now." She commands. Enna goes to stand guard by the door after he realizes that the souls could form and be upset or violent. -
Eldgrimr awoke and was groaning in pain. He said "What was all that about?" He then looked at himself and said "You've killed me?" Luwanna stood up and said "Ugh, that was a lot more painful than I hoped."
-
Azariah inhaled deeply, opening their eyes and looking around. Even now, they couldn't quite make out all that was going on around them. There was multiple people in the room, and it appeared that quite a few souls were seated on a table. Azariah pulled their hand up to their face and studied the glowiness, tilting their head in fascination and curiosity.
Ethelyn's immediate instinct was to reach for her dagger and swipe, but there was no dagger. Instead, she grabbed through thin air. "What the--" She whipped her head around, realizing that there were a lot more souls than just her. She scanned the room for her killers, only catching sight of Faris close by. "You little brat!" She screamed, pointing a finger at him. "You tried to kill me, and you brought a f---ing council member as backup!?"
Fir chuckled at Hornet, but he didn't move. He kept his eyes on Azariah, curious to see how they would react. He also noticed that Joti and Ethelyn were likely to be the most problematic of the bunch. -
"Yes. I suppose I did. I followed orders and it got me killed..." Faris replies to Ethelyn. He trails off, he seems to be deep in thought about something.
"Amazing. I haven't done that spell since.. hm, you're all awake. You're likely confused," Androni starts. Joti suddenly hops off the table and makes a beeline for the door. Caught by surprise, Enna just barely blocks her in time.
"Mom! How could you let this happen to me?" Joti says from Enna's hold. She stares daggers at her mother, Mishel. Androni intervenes. "Right now we have more important matters to discuss that simply cannot wait for your moral dilemmas and familial issues. If we don't act now, it could mean the end for all infernum." Androni says, trying to get the girl to listen and see the importance of all this.
"Damn right it'll be the end of all infernum when I'm through with you all," Joti replies with a snarl. -
Eldgrimr asked "What is this all about? Of what need was there to kill all of us. I demand an explanation." Luwanna just watched all of this because she knew the circumstances.
-
"You deserved it!" Ethelyn yelled at him. She pushed herself up from the table and jumped off, scanning around wildly for Enna. "Where's that stupid teammate of yours? He deserves to be dead too, for the s--- he pulled!"
Azariah rubbed their temples. It had been a while since they were around people who made such a fuss, aside from a couple of souls here and there. "Calm down, all of you. She is trying to explain.. We should give her a chance to do so." -
"Yes. An explanation," Androni nods as Elgrimr says this. Then Ethelyn hops off the table and begins causing a ruckus too. Androni sighs. She hasn't used this much magic in a while, but something had to be done to diffuse this.
Just as Azariah says 'give her a chance to do so' Androni begins an incantation. "Sedet oratio. Silentium. Una voce... Sedet oratio. Silentium. Una voce..." When she finishes it seems as if nothing has happened.
Your stupid spell didn't work! Haha- woah Joti tries to say, but as her mouth moved and formed the words, no sound came from it. Joti widens her eyes in surprise, not used to the sensation of forming words but with no sound to accompany them.
"That's better. Looks like I'll be the only one doing the talking now.. My name is Androni. I'm the oldest Infernum. I've instructed the council to kill you because the souls we've had the responsibility of taking care of have begun to escape. There's a trap door of sorts. The souls go through it and come back to life in the human world. I've seen visions of the human world, and it's slowly setting into chaos. People are walking out of the hospital, miraculously brought back to life after dying and having their bodies headed for the morgue. If we wait a minute sooner people will start taking death as a joke and slaughtering each other left and right just for the fun of it. That's where you young ones come in. I have a suspicion of where this hole could be located." Androni pauses to make sure the information was sinking in okay. -
Eldgrimr gave a nod showing he fully understood the situation now. Luwana, having already been told the mission, just nodded to show she was at least paying attention. However, she'll admit, she was bored.
-
Ethelyn begrudgingly turned her attention to Androni. She could feel the adrenaline coursing through her; well, at least, she assumed it was adrenaline. Then again, she was dead. The realization and confusion hit her as the elder Infernum spoke. She wanted to ask questions and keep shouting, but after watching what happened to Joti, she wasn't sure it was worth the effort.
Azariah had been listening from the beginning, but they continued to watch Androni intently to ensure she knew that they were paying close attention. It looked like the situation of the two angry Infernum souls was solved for the time being. -
Joti growled, but even that couldn't be heard. Why kill us? She mouthed, and she mouthed the words at least 5 times just to give everyone a chance to read her lips and get her question across.
Androni seemed to understand. "I've already personally searched everywhere for the trap door. I've come to the conclusion that only those who are dead can see it. I know the council and I are probably the most experienced infernum, but I didn't want to commit a mass murder suicide just to locate this door." Androni explains.
She goes on, "Anyway, we can skip the formalities for now. I'd like to send you all off immediately. The quicker, the better. Your mission is simple reconnaissance. Just find the exact location of the door and then report back to me. My suspicion is that it's located somewhere deep in the Silver Forest, but that is all I know," Androni says.
Enna and Fir listen to Androni with slight interest. She'd never told them that she thought the doors were in the forest, just that there were doors. Enna tries to ask something, then he frowns as nothing comes out. "Oh, let me clear this spell," Androni says when she notices. She says something under her breath. "Okay, now you can all tell me your queries. We must be quick about it though." -
Eldgrimr looked at the rag tag group assembled around him and asked "Yes, what exactly was your picking process for the "volunteers?" I'm looking at everyone and it feels haphazard."
-
Ethelyn immediately blew up, frustrated by the explanation Androni had provided. "You DID commit a mass murder. You murdered innocent people without giving them a chance to say yes or no. Surely there are idiots that would have gladly laid down their life for your cause!"
Azariah moved over to Ethelyn, placing a hand on her shoulder. "That isn't a query. What has happened is over. There is no use being angry about something that can't be undone." They paused, looking over at Eldgrimir's direction. "..It was all by chance. But I'm sure we can make it work." -
Androni takes another sip from her cup as everyone throws their questions at her, then she answers calmly, "Yes, it just as Azariah says. Everything was by chance. Let me re-word my earlier statement about mass murder. I meant I'd rather not have to mass murder council for this. Tempting as it was, I fear that that would only bring panic and disorder once the infernum found out. As for volunteers.. well, think about it. If everyone knew then everyone would panic and start slaying and mistreating every human soul that came through the gate. I couldn't just put up signs that say 'souls are escaping through a magical hole! Sign up today to volunteer to die and find it!'- The people would jump to extreme conclusions. I know you see me as being unfair, but trust me, I've thought extensively about every option, and this was the best approach," Androni explains.
Joti, ever the spitfire, jumps up onto the table and says, "So you admit that you'd rather have random civilians killed rather than your precious council?! What a great bunch of leaders and role models you are!" Joti says that last part sarcastically.
Androni shakes her head no. "It was entirely random, I swear. All of the council members had the same chance of getting killed just like all of you did. Now, get off that table or you'll fall," Androni advises. Joti raises an eyebrow. "And what, then I'll crack my neck and die? Seems a bit late for that dontcha think?" She walks around that table teasingly.
