"I been alive for many, many eons. I learn the art of speak. This common for ghouls that live for very very very long... and I come to you in need of help." The ghoul says. His sentences are a bit broken and imperfect, but it's impressive nonetheless.
Joti whistles as she walks around the ghoul, still taking in the fact that it can speak, and that it's sentient at all. The ghoul doesn't seem to mind.
Faris doesn't trust him. Could this be an illusion? How has he never heard of something like this? Faris again says nothing, he just waits and observes. -
Eldgrimr said "How can we trust you? I have heard ghouls are not something to get tangled with." Luwanna kept her eyes trained on the ghoul to make sure it didn't do anything.

Azariah frowned deeply at the ghoul's notion. Why would a ghoul need their help?
Before the Sanguinem can speak further, Ethelyn piped up. "We have a mission of our own. We don't have time to help a ghoul."
"Ethelyn," Azariah grunted, looking to the others. "We should hear him out. Perhaps his problem is tied to our own." -
(Faris and Joti)
"How I trust you warriors?" The ghoul counters pointedly at Eldgrimr. "You hunt my kind for eons, yet I come to you. Why not if not my problem is dire?" The ghoul says. He nods at Azariah. "I know not of your problem, but my old age grants me knowledge of very things. You help me, I help you." The ghoul suggests.
Joti smiles, very amused. "Hey Mr. Ghoul, can you say 'sally sells seashells by the seashore'?" She asks. The ghoul, confused, replies with, "Sally sell shell shore..." with a deadpan look. Joti giggles and walks back to the group. Faris was looking at her with a horrified expression, like she was crazy. "Sorry, sorry," she said with a shrug, "He seems harmless though." -
(That's really cool.)
Eldgrimr said "You have a point there." Luwanna asked "SO what do you need us for? Take down a giant monster, find an ancient jewel, solve a complicated math problem?" -
(I love them so much! Their designs are hella pleasing.)
Ethelyn snickered at Joti's request. Listening to the ghoul attempt to repeat the tongue twister certainly lifted her spirits. She put her blade away, rising from her spot and moving to stand with the rest of the group.
Azariah rubbed their face, sighing. They slowly dropped their hand, waiting to hear what the ghoul would say in response to Luwanna. -
-
"This one very intuitive," The ghoul points at Luwanna, "You warrior is spot on. There is monster plaguing this forest. I ask that warriors defeat it," The ghoul says. Joti giggles, "Aren't there hundreds of monsters here? I heard this place is crawling with ghouls," she says.
The ghoul shakes his head somberly. "This beast is no ghoul. It eats. It feeds. It devours all in path, even my kind," he explains. Faris gets a chill up his back. He had never heard of such a creature. -
Luwanna said "Wow, sounds like a real tough dude." Eldgrimr remarked "If this creature is enough to make ghouls fear, who knows what else it's capable of. We had better find it and procced with caution."

Ethelyn looked to the others, making a broad hand gesture. "Guys. We have our own quest to deal with, remember? We can't stop and help some random ghoul--"
"This could be a threat to our mission," Azariah interjected, frowning deeply. "This beast could block us from finding the door. I do not believe we have the luxury of ignoring it." -

"Plus this guy said he's been alive and living in these woods for a while. If he has info that can help us, then all the more reason to help him. It'll be good for us in the long run. Better than just walking around the forest hoping to stumble across the door," Joti says to Ethelyn, backing up Azariah. It was obvious that Joti was just excited at the prospect of a fight, though.
"I help warriors to do task. I offer armor; warriors will not go un..covered. It best can offer to help. Only if warriors agree do task," The ghoul says. He holds out a black shadowy hand, the one not holding his walking stick, waiting for someone to shake it.
