He figured dinner was about done, so Alex got out of that bath. He blew out the candles, then wrapped the towel around his waist. Nia was either in her downstairs, or helping Mother. Well, that's what he thought. He brushed his teeth, put in deodorant, etc. After a few minutes, he tried himself off, wrapped the towel again, and walked in to the room.
-
Nia snapped into attention from the bathroom door and looked up to see Alex come out of the washroom. As she was slowly dragged back into reality, she realized Alex was only wearing a towel. Nia realized she was studying him and that her cheeks were heating up so she quickly looked away to hide her blushing from him. Feeling her breath escape her for a bit, she took deep breaths to calm herself down as she studied the window.
-
Water blinded his eyes, making them sting. He closed them, making his way to the bed. He sat down, then tried running his eyes. That made them blurrier. He didn't know that Nia was in the room, he thought she would still be downstairs or with Mother. He stood, unwrapped the towel, then say back down again. He used it to dry his eyes, softly dabbing at them
-
Nia blushed brightly and looked at the ground. Should she say something? Should she leave? Yeah leaving would be better, less awkward, and she could escape to her little hole in the wall. She took one last glance at Alex, studying him, before quietly closing the door behind her. She then headed for the basement, her mind buzzing with several different thoughts. Confusion, desire, fear, giddiness, curiousity, and other emotions swarming around as her stomach felt like it was full of butterflies. "I'll just read a book, and get my mind off it." She told herself as she walked down the basement stairs. However no matter what, her mind kept going to seeing him.
-
After a few minutes of rubbing, he blinked his eyes a whole lot. He could see, on some level. Things were still a bit blurry, but nothing that would be there come morning. He dried his hair, then stood up. He pulled on some boxer, then his "casual" clothing. He then laid in bed until dinner was done
-
"Alex! Nia! Time for dinner!" Nia's mother called. Nia took her time getting upstairs, knowing Alex would usually take his food to the den, back porch, or their room and she would eat dinner with her mom. Certainly not wanting to cross paths with him right now, she took a longer way to the dining room, out of the way of the hall between their bedroom and the dining room. She then waited from the door of the dining room to see if he had gotten his dinner.
-
Alex had gone in a trance. He had been staring at the ceiling, thinking. No one knows what about, not even him. Just thinking. He thought about nothing so hard, that he didn't hear mother call him for supper
-
Nia didn't see her mother or Alex in the kitchen and shrugged before sitting at the table.
"Alex? Are you going to get your dinner?" Nia's mother called again as she knocked on the bedroom door. -
Alex didn't respond. He was so deep (that's what she said) in thought, that the whole world was blocked out.
-
Nia's mother sighed before opening the door. "Alex? Are you okay?" She asked, clapping her hands to try and get his attention.
-
He blinked, then sat up. He got out of bed, and bowed. "I apologise mother. I ran too deep into thought, losing my focus as well as my train of thought. I apologise deeply. If you would like, I would eat with you tonight as a proper apology"
-
Nia's mom chuckled slightly and sighed. "It's alright Alex, you don't need to apologize. If you like you can eat with us, but it's your choice of course." She assured him. "However, would you mind if I give you some advice?" She then asked.
-
He nodded "Of course. I am always open to advice, and always take it to heart'
-
"I think it would be a good idea to relax a bit now and then. I mean at school I get that it's a Private school and you want a good reputation. However at home you don't have to bow, or apologize so much, or be so prim and proper. I mean if you like to do that stuff, that's fine, just know you don't have to act that way with me, or especially with Nia. Just be yourself." She explained before heading for the kitchen to start serving up dinner.
-
Alex followed after a minute, and sat down at the table. He noticed father was missing, and knew he would be gone a while. He looked down at his plate, then up at Mother
