The woman nodded, and moved a hot pad. Underneath was Nia's phone "Well, understand you can come here if ever needed"

Nia nodded and smiled. "Thanks. Maybe this school won't be so bad after all." Nia sighed in relief as she returned her phone to her purse. Imagine if Alex had snooped into her phone and seen some photos with her old friends she'd rather keep quiet, or text to her old friends about having a crush on him. That wouldn't be good. Luckily his uptightness was good for three things. He kept a strict schedule that was easy to avoid, he would never be mischievous or charming towards her, and he probably wouldn't pick up on her crush on him even if she tried to reveal it. Nia shook herself out of her thoughts and smiled. "Have a good night, Mrs..." She continued.

"Trech" the woman finished, taking a sip of her tea. She watched Nia get up, and walk to the door. Before she left, the woman said "Good luck with him, Nia. Especially since he'll never catch on"

Nia froze at the door before turning around. "Uh... Pardon me?" She asked, wondering what the woman meant. There was no way she knew... Was there?

Nia felt very confused now as she walked out of the room. It wasn't like the woman could read minds, that was impossible. Nia sighed as she began walking home, wondering what to do with Mrs. Trech's advice. Eventually she decided to take a walk in the park and enjoy the sound of the leaves crunching under her feat. There was something meditative about that sound... It helped to calm her. As did the sound of rain falling, wind blowing, puddles splashing under her feet, wind chimes, and snow crunching under her feet. So she merely focused on walking, the nice crispy air, and the sounds the leaves made.

"WHAT?" Franco yelled, then whispered "what?" You can't be serious. Really?". Alex nodded, and sighed "I know.. What can I say?". For once, him and Franco were acting like humans

Nia nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard Franco yell and paled slightly when she saw the two. Then she relaxed as she studied Alex. He seemed... Laid back... Nia shook her thoughts away, knowing if she began to stare it would end badly, so she hid behind a nearby large tree and listened to their conversation.

"Of all the people?" Franco exclaimed "Why??". Alex shrugged "I don't know.. I just know what I want.. and what I need... Still, X probably hates me.". Franco nodded "Yeah. I believe X said you were a stick in the mud. Then again, who hasn't?"

Nia rubbed her arm as she listened to them. Who was this X they were talking about? X was probably a variable they were using in case someone was listening. Alex is pretty smart... Nia shook out her thoughts and continued to think who Alex could be interested in. It would be silly to believe it was her, since it's been pretty obvious since day one Alex wasn't her biggest fan. Maybe once Nia got to know the other students more she would find out who Alex had a crush on. Then again, X could be a teacher for a class Alex wants to join for all she knew. Yeah... That seems more likely. Nia decided that must have been it as she continued to listen. -
"Shut up. X is beautiful." Alex said, then cringed. So did Franco, except he did way more "That's messed up.. Does X,Y, or Z have any clue?" "Negative. Why do you think we're talking like a bunch of nerds?" "Cause we are a bunch nerds?'

Nia couldn't help but burst into laughter at their conversation. When she realized this, she paled and froze, wanting to run but her legs wouldn't move. She barely breathed to keep quiet as she listened, hoping to hear signs that they didn't hear her as every muscle in her body tensed.
