Alex finished dinner, and stood up. He bowed "Thank you for dinner, mother" and then grabbed his dish and headed to the sink
-
"Nice boy isn't he?" Mother asked. "Yeah..." Nia replied, blushing slightly. "Do you like it here so far Nia?" Her mother asked. "The school is pretty strict, but there is one woman there who is really nice. I think she can read minds." Nia replied. "Why is that?" Her mother asked. "Uh... No reason." Nia replied, blushing slightly. Her mother raised her eyebrow but didn't say anything.
-
After Alex put away his dishes, he returned to his room. He already had his homework done, and he didn't really do entertainment
-
Nia finished her dinner and washed her dishes before heading to her hole in the wall and grabbing the box of books and taking them to the room. She knocked on the door, not wanting an incident like earlier.
-
"You may enter" Alex said, questioning why someone would knock
-
Nia entered the room and placed the box on her bed. "Okay. We're going to start off simple. Reading! Like school work, but more interesting. I have several kinds of books, so we'll find out what kind you like best. Let's see... You might like Fantasy, oh! I know! Maybe you'll like Harry Potter!" Nia cheered, grabbing the first Harry Potter book and sitting beside him.
-
"I've already read those books, and they have little appeal to me" Alex said, sitting up
-
"Alright. What is it about the book that doesn't appeal to you? And what does?" She asked, returning the book as she pulled out different books.
-
"Magic isn't appealing" Alex shrugged
-
"Ok, so not fantasy. How about sci-fi?" She replied, handing him The Time Machine by H.G Wells.
-
"Not possible" Alex said, turning
-
"Why not?" Nia asked, needing to know what he didn't like about the book so she could avoid it in the next suggestion.
-
"Because, they based the time traveling mechanism completely wrong." Alex said, looking at his watch. An hour and a half until they had to leave.
-
"Alright, this one's a realistic book called To Kill a Mocking Bird." Nia replied. Most people would think she'd loose her patience. However she was determined, patient, and there were lots of books in the world for a reason.
-
"I liked it when I first read it, but it lost interest" Alex said, standing up
