Dorvakin walked away and went to see if he could find Elbereth again.
-
Hearing footsteps, Elbereth stood and leaned against the tree. She took a deep breath and glanced around the tree. ''My goodness, you frightened me, Drow,'' Elbereth hissed, her brows furrowed in anger. She had feared for the worse, that a High Elf had searched too far into the wilderness and was now in the Drows' lands, looking for her. Elbereth swallowed the lump in her throat and relaxed against the tree.
-
Dorvakin said "I don't think you'll have to worry about those other High Elves finding you. I think Scout's growl scared them."
-
''Well, that's one good thing about this entire day,'' Elbereth hummed, as ran her fingers through her blonde hair. She settled herself back down, fumbling with the string of her bow. ''Thank you,'' The words slipped past her peach lips as she had morals and manners. ''
-
Dorvakin said "No problem." He saw what looked like a bottle in the bag she was carrying. He asked "Is that whiskey?"
-
Elbereth took a glance towards her whiskey, raising an eyebrow. She crossed her arms over her chest, eyes still lingering over the pouch of whiskey. ''Perhaps it is,'' Elbereth hummed. ''It may not even be whiskey, but, water,'' Elbereth said, her brow raised. Elbereth looked towards the pouch, a sigh escaping her lips. ''It is indeed whiskey, and quite delicious actually,'' Elbereth, hummed, a soft smile decorating her lips.
-
Dorvakin said "And here I thought High Elves didn't even know what alcohol was." He asked "Would you be willing to share?"
-
''Of course, we do!'' Elbereth hissed angerly, her cheeks tinted pink from his words. ''It was a gift from a social event with our God whilst he was upon the planet with the first High Elves who came to be, an event in which was to celebrate balance amongst our people,'' Elbereth huffed, brows furrowed in anger. ''Of course, someone amongst the likes of you wouldn't understand,'' Despite her harsh words, she grabbed her pouch of whiskey. Standing, Elbereth strutted up to the man. She looked up towards him, her anger clear on her delicate features. Elbereth shoved the pouch into his hands, brows furrowed. ''We're far more intelligent than you think, Drow,'' She hissed, crossing her arms over her chest.
-
Dorvakin said "I never said you weren't intelligent, I've just never seen a drunk High Elf." He grabbed one bottle of whiskey and gave the bag back to Elbereth.
-
''A drunk High Elf is an equivalent to a Drow,'' Elbereth said, taking a seat by the tree. She crossed her legs, placing her pouch aside. ''If a High Elf were to get drunk,'' Elbereth said, taking a sip of her own whiskey. She cleared her throat eyes closed, for just a moment. ''We'd have to be in an enclosed room with High Elves of the same class, gender, and age,'' Elbereth recalled the rules of the High Elves' drinking standards since she became of age. The rules were embedded in her brain and were never forgotten. ''Those are the rules,'' Elbereth took yet another sip of her whiskey, opening her eyes as she stared into the emptiness of the forest.
-
Dorvakin sat down and said "You don't think we do the same thing." He drank some of the whiskey and said "It doesn't always work." He then petted Scout on the head.
-
Elbereth pulled down on her hood, concealing the side of her cheek where the scars remained healed and smooth, covered with various products. She hummed leaning back against the tree. Her green eyes took a glance at Dorvakin as she took another sip from her whiskey. ''It always worked for my people,'' Elbereth whispered. ''It only worked cause of the rules my father enforced...Is there anyone even ruling the Drows?'' Elbereth hummed, never hearing of a ruler or such before, perhaps it was her foggy memory. She continued to drink the whiskey as the two chatted, it was a somewhat pleasant chat whilst she got tipsy. Their small talk was rather better than the chats she had with fellow High Elves while she was drinking.
-
Dorvakin said "We do have a ruler, yes. His name is Chief Potentate and his wife Cheiftess Magul." He wasn't sure if it was the whiskey but he started to enjoy talking to this High Elf more than anyone else he had talked to.
-
Elbereth drank her whiskey, her brows furrowed as she ran her fingers through her long hair. ''Hm, I suppose you must be close to them, no? From being their highest ranking soldier?'' Elbereth questioned, leaning against the tree as a soft breeze blew past. As the night continued on, the cold began to settle and linger.
-
Dorvakin said "Yes. I would give my life for them if they were in danger. The chief is like a father to his men. He even knew my own father."
