Shawn pulled on his leather jacket (cause he's a cool guy. Lol) and a ball cap before going outside. He put two jars with holes poked in the lid into his back pack as well as two water bottles, some sandwiches, and a bottle of pepper spray for defence, just in case. He put his back pack over his shoulder and held Alianna's hand as they walked down the side walk.
-
''Adventure, adventure!'' Alianna sang as she skipped beside her brother. With a small but firm grasp on his hand as she swung their conjoined arms back and forth. ''I'm so excited, I can't wait to see the pretty fireflies! Later on, could you read me a book about the fireflies?'' Alianna asked overcome with excitement to even bother with the emotions that once swelled in the pit of her stomach.
-
Luckily, Shawn knew he had his IPad and it's charger in his bag. So he knew he would be able to read her lots of books on there if he decided to go threw with his plain. He wasn't sure yet. He decided that if Alianna got scared and wanted to go back, then they would go back. However if she fell asleep or something while they were there, then he would carry on with his plan.
-
''Oh, oh!'' Alianna said, in excitement. ''Can we play tag, pretty please?!'' She asked, knowing well her brother wasn't quite physical. He was more of a nerd and loved him dearly for his unique personality. Alianna grinned, in hopes her smile will allow them to play one game together.
-
"Once we get there. It wouldn't be safe to play in the streets." He told her. He knew he would be slow playing tag with her and his blankets stuffed in his coat for if they were to sleep out there. However it was important to keep her safe as well as keep her happy. He watched the sun setting in the distance. It would only be another half hour until it was dark out. Luckily the park had street lamps scattered all over it. "Isn't the park beautiful at night?" Shawn asked his sister.
-
Alianna nodded and looked at the landscape of the park. ''It is pretty,'' Alianna said, a grin on her lips. Though, with a yawn, as she gazed around the park in search for a glance of the fireflies. ''Where do you think we can find the fireflies?'' Alianna asked, her eyes still searching.
-
"You'll see. Common." He told her, knowing an area of the park where the lamps wouldn't be an issue, he too her into a picnic room of the park. There was shelter, no lighting, and grass. Shawn took a stick in from outside before closing the door. The room was nearly pitch black. However as Shawn gently dragged the stick across the grass, fire flies flew up into the air.
-
(*Come on)
-
Alianna yawned but gazed admiringly at the fireflies. A giggle passed her lips as she watched the fireflies fluttered around, remaining close to their homes. Their flickering lights, cause a grin to appear on her lips. ''They're so pretty!'' She cheered, her gaze shifting from Shawn to the fireflies.
-
Shawn smiled and set up the blankets on a soft and dry area of the grass. "Aren't they?" Shawn agreed, smiling. Perhaps he would wright a book about fireflies.
-
Alianna sat down on the blankets, grinning at the fireflies. ''Do you think mommy and daddy would like the fireflies?'' She blurted, without hesitation. She bit down on her bottom lip, her thoughts still lingering and wishing for them to love her and Shawn like they did once before. ''I-I'm s-sorry I-I didn't mean to,'' Alianna apologized, twiddling her thumbs nervously.
-
"It's Okay." Shawn told her, wrapping his arms around her. "There's nothing wrong with thinking about them. It doesn't bother me. As long as you're happy." Shawn told her. He wondered if their father had realized they left yet.
-
Should I have Braden call Noelle saying the kids were gone and have you know, a mini panic attack between the adults that could you know, completely destroy their relationship.))
Alianna nodded, settling into her brother's warmth. She felt relaxed but, would glance towards the entrance of the park her eyes full of hope. ''I-I suppose I-I'm happy, I just miss them...'' Alianna mumbled as a question came to mind. ''What do you think mommy is doing? Without daddy?'' She asked, her eyes directed to the fireflies. -
(Idk. Maybe,)
Shawn thought long and hard about it before answering. "I think she and Daddy loved eachother for the wrong reasons. Mommy is looking for someone who loves her for the right reasons." He told her. -
''If they loved each other for the wrong reasons, then what about us?'' Alianna questioned, licking her lips in thought. ''D-Do you t-think...'' Alianna paused, wondering her how much her heart will strain from the emotional pain. ''D-Do y-you think mommy found someone? To love for the right reasons? W-What wo-would happen to us then?'' Alianna questioned, biting her bottom lip, to distract her from the growing pain.
