But just poor Liam
Poor blue
Blue's mother nodded. "Yes, I am his mother." She sat down next to Rose. Whom, as usual, said nothing. Her eyes were blank, and almost emotionless besides an expression of slight concern for Blue. Blue hated this. All these people who acted as if he was dying. He was fine. Well, physically. Mentally, not so much. He was on a verge of a mental breakdown. He wanted hugs, he wanted to wrap his arms around Liam. He wanted to pull him close for comfort.
He couldn't do this. He knew this was just a fantasy. These thoughts were merely caused by trauma. He would zap out of it sooner or later. He had too. Blue shivered a little, suddenly quite cold. He took a deep breath, preparing to tread on a dangerous subject.
"Mother, I believe I might have attempted suicide this morning. I took twice the amount of anti depressants I should have, and I think I did that to attempt to kill myself. I have an idea why, but I'm not sure if it was my true motive or not. My brain is still quite fried.." Blue told them. Rose glanced up to him, raising an eyebrow. She mouthed a few words, and Blue nodded. These words were, 'That gym thing?'
Oh my such plot twist
Much fun
Wow -
poor everyone DX
Liam turned to give Blue his full attention while he spoke. He wondered where the boy was heading in his speech. He was prepared to hear the reason why. That way, he could stay true to himself and help the boy to the best of his ability as he'd wanted to do before. Suddenly, he felt incredibly awkward being the one to be so close to him. He hoped that Blue's mother did not think he was being a disrespectful teenager, denying her access to her own son. He gripped tighter onto Paxton as his friend spoke.
His eyes darted to his father, and he could tell that the man was deliberating within himself whether or not he should stay in the room. The elder was quite scared to know the answer. He had only met the younger about a half an hour ago. Knowing such a deep, dark secret about the other right off the bat was overwhelming. Either way, he kept his face knit in tight worry, still trying to make the decision. His eyes wandered to his son, who signed discreetly for him to stay. He explained that he needed him there in case anything he couldn't handle happened.
Paxton could clearly sense the mood. As a service dog, he would grow very frantic when his owner would not consider his actions or warnings. Since Liam was only sitting there and not even offering a loving pat, the canine jumped down and hurried over to his father, sitting at his feet.
oh my s--- -
this is going to be really awkward for me to write
Probably really awkward for Blue to say
Blue sighed. He had no choice. He might as well blurt it out, while the thought was still in his mind. "I like guys," he said quickly, almost too quickly for anyone to understand, "And I hate it." Rose gave him a thumbs up, proud of his bravery. His mom merely put a hand over her mouth in shock. She said nothing, and that embarrassed Blue a lot.
He broke into another coughing fit, mostly self induced. His cheeks were bright red. Rose, however, looked happier than ever that her friend was finally- well, kind of- accepting himself. Blue kept his eyes away from Liam, and set them on Rose. She was the only one who he knew for a fact wouldn't freak out- because she already knew. And he loved her for that.
His mom was the first to say anything, after a long silence. "Are.. Are you sure?" Blue nodded, sadly.
"How- how long have you known?"
"Since a year before we moved." The boy admitted, "I started feeling strange things- something wasn't.. Right." His throat constricted, hating this subject they were one. For about the sixteenth time today, he wanted to shrink into a hole and die. -
man i wanna cry I just want to hug him
What Blue said made Liam's father perk up. He nearly stated, 'Well, I guess you share something in common with Liam', but thankfully, he refrained from saying so. Liam was ecstatic to hear the first part of the other boy's confession, but after that, things went downhill. His stomach went queasy as soon as the other said that he hated it. He swallowed back a lump of spit, turning his head away. It had only been a day. Why are you choked up, Liam?
Paxton went to his owner's feet, settling himself down right in front of them. He wanted to go home. He wanted to feed his fish. He wanted to turn on one of his lava lamps and watch the substance inside move and comfort him with its warming glow. He wanted to read a book, absorb the words. He wanted to write a poem. He wanted to do anything but stay in the hospital room. At first, he was frightened as he thought maybe Blue was homophobic but couldn't avoid his feelings.
Another part of him thought that he was just confused like Liam had been when he was thirteen. He couldn't leave just yet. The sixteen year old placed a hand on Blue's knee, staring at him. He mouthed the words, 'You're very brave' as clearly as he possibly could. -
I just wanna hug everyone in the room
Except rose because she's not shocked at all
Although rose is a cute little smol bean
Blue smiled a little to Liam. Blue's mother signed quietly, unsure of what to say. "Blue, honey, be who you are. Don't hate yourself like that. It's unhealthy- no wonder you're depressed. Be yourself. Some people will criticize you- but they'll criticize you either way." Blue was shocked at his mom's positive reaction, as he was afraid she wouldn't accept him. "Thanks, mom. Rose knew from the start." Blue said, fondly. The shy girl perked her head up, waving gently and smiling. "I'm so happy he can finally be himself~"
He couldn't deny. He felt pretty elated as well. Blue was shocked everyone he loved responded so well. They were the ones he was most concerned about. "I've just.. Thought being different was such a bad thing all of my life.. And I'm so happy you guys are being so supportive." Tears flowed down from the boy's cheeks, and he mouthed another apology to Liam.
He seemed like an emotional wreck, honestly. And he was, sort of. A selfish, emotional wreck. Hopefully, in time, he could get over that, and become the type of person he wanted to be. Blue's smile had never been wider. -
yes smol bean omg x)
school was bleck
And just like that, he felt okay again. Even so, the dog below his feet whined for Liam to pick him up. The boy did so, holding him close. The sixteen year old didn't know what else to do or say, and so he decided to turn towards Blue completely, pulling his feet up onto the bed. Paxton settled himself in his owner's lap, staring directly at the taller gentleman in the hospital bed. The canine tilted his head, giving a happy little bark.
Liam's dad's phone began to ring out, and the man grabbed the device from his pocket. He looked to his son, who was eyeing him suspiciously.
"It's Mama. I'll be right back." He exited the hospital room, leaving only Liam and the girls. Liam wondered what his mother could be calling his father in the middle of work for. She was probably reminding him about something like the worry wart she was. The boy sent his smiling, goofy face back to Blue. He was glad that his friend was capable of admittance. He always recalled the age old saying that admitting something was the first step no matter what a person wanted to do. He grimaced. His uncle hardly used to admit it. He hoped Blue would be better than his Uncle. He hoped he would stay strong and push through anything. -
I'm not in school atm lmao
Blue grinned back to Liam, overcome with happiness and with the acceptance from the other boy. Even his mom smiled. "Well, I should get going," His mother said, "I have to get back to work. Rouge and Jaune will be here after a while. If Liam wants to meet them, see if they can stay around longer." Blue shrugged in response, doubting Liam wanted to be overcome with more people after such a long day. The tall boy stretched his legs out with a yawn. He sat up, moving one food to hang off of each side of the small bed.
The hospital bed was, indeed, too short for him. Blue always felt a little insecure about his height, but that was none of his worries now, anyways. He glanced up to the machine that was administering him an IV through his veins, and back to the needle that was on his arm. It hardly hurt; he was used to it, growing up around hospitals all of his life.
Thinking about hospitals, he realized he wasn't going to get out of going to rehab, institution or a support group. He also wouldn't be able to get out of the EEG and MRI he had coming. EEG's were fine, they didn't bother Blue, since the tests were done whilst he was asleep. MRI's had always made him nervous, as he had seen a little too many episodes of "House, M.D." To know how that wound up. Not pretty.
He supposed he could be a little paranoid, and a little fearful at times. A bit of a scaredy cat, but he liked to hide that from others and seem stoic and unbothered. Why couldn't he be stoic? Why must he feel such vivid emotions?
But he supposed some emotions weren't bad to feel. Just like the way he felt about- 'Goddamnit, thoughts, get the hell out of my head.' The boy thought, aggravated. 'Control yourself, Blue.' -
oh YES f--- SCHOOL
Yes reference house ahhh
Liam had been sitting in silence for the period of time in which his father had stepped out. It would be a lie to say that he wasn't worried about what might have occurred. Usually, his parents would end the call after a few seconds of conversation. This time, something was different. He could sense it. His fatherwwouldn't be out of the room for five minutes if it wasn't. He was just about to get up when the door swung open and his father returned to his position. Liam rose an eyebrow as the man crossed his legs over each other, linking his hands together and placing them on his knee.
Liam let go of Paxton to sign off, 'Is everything okay? Why did Mama call?' The eldest in the room smiled in a mmelancholy fashion. In response, he signed, 'Mama called because Auntie Henrietta called her at work. She said that Uncle Mason left a few things behind for you, something about a box. Auntie Hen is gonna send it in from Montana. She also says she hopes you're feeling better about him.' His eyes widened in excitement, shocked that his favorite family member had left him things. He hadn't been capable of bringing anything of his Uncle's before they moved, and so the news made his heart pound to the point where he thought it would break out of his chest.
He hurried responded, 'Do you know what kind of things? It isn't anything that'll scare me, right? Like that one time he gave me his journal that he recorded all of his hallucinations in?' His father chuckled, shaking his head. He was aware of the items being delivered but he wanted to keep the surprise intact. Liam sighed jokingly, turning back to Blue. His father translated as he signed.
"I can stay if you'd like. I'm sure my dad is okay with it." His father smiled, nodding.
"I have a buddy here anyways." -
Yas
That show makes MRIs seem scurry asf
Blue smiled, saying, "I'd like that." However, Rose explained that she had to go. She had work in the afternoons, and she often slaved away more hours than she needed to. Of course, she worked at an animal rescue, something she much enjoyed doing. Blue enjoyed watching her smile with the animals, it was the one place she felt comfortable.
Blue looked over to Liam, putting his hands and pushing them into the center of the bed. He made a small huff noise, a nice, calm, exhale. However, he was resisting the urge to let all of his anxieties out and vent them to Liam. Instead, he picked up his school backpack, and took out a notebook and pencil. This notebook was the green one, the one that stated "Biology and Biotechnology" on the front.
He then went to write:
I feel really good right now. However, I do realize this is merely just calm before the storm. It's a terrible feeling I have. I love having Liam around, and it's calming me down. But I feel so delusional. As if I'm not addressing the problem at hand. I could be sent to a mental hospital or rehab facility. I can't leave Liam at school alone, but I don't know if they'll let me just go to a support group either. It depends on how the MRI and EEG come back. And how my psych evaluation comes back. I hope I do well on that s---, because I'm not leaving him here alone. The boy dated the entry. It wasn't the first entry he'd made, either. There were many torn out pages of notebooks, which were taped together, inside of his sock drawer.
Whenever he wasn't feeling well and he was on the go, he'd write. If he had his computer, he'd type or vent to a stranger. All were effective. -
IT REALLY DOES
Liam watched as his father waved, signing, shoot a text when you need me. before exiting the room completely. The boy was a bit worried that the speech barrier would make the visit less enjoyable for both parties. Paxton jumped away from Liam, cuddling into the chair that the boy's dad had been in. He folded his hands, letting them rest along with his legs. All he did was watch Blue from where he was sitting. Since the boy had been writing, he didn't want to be rude and be disruptive to whatever he was getting down.
He pondered exactly what items his Uncle had left behind. It was humorous to him that they had left because of the death and now, it was revealed to him that he had things that were now his. A certain timepiece would be coming, he knew. His uncle had always carried it around and vowed that the gold locket with silver details would be his one day. It was an intriguing thing to even look at, and so Liam was jittery uncle the fact that he would have it.
Lighters. Lighters would most definitely be involved. Though his uncle never even touched a cigarette, cigar, or blunt, lighters had always fascinated him. It may have been apart of the schizophrenia, the obsession with fire. Liam never saw anything wrong with it. In fact, some of his fondest memories were around a campfire in the Montana wilderness.
He smiled giddily, looking back to Blue in hopes he would converse with him. -
Luckily so far I don't have to take MRIs
He opened the notebook to a different page. It was clean. "You can write down things you want to say here." Blue said, passing him over the notebook. It wasn't the most effective way to communicate, but it certainly worked. He was excited to get to know more about the handsome boy sitting across from him. Not only was he handsome, he was interesting. For some reason, Liam intrigued Blue.
Not that Blue wasn't naturally very curious, that was the opposite of the case. In fact, most of his social aspects came from the fact he was curious. It was plain and simple. Blue liked to know things and Blue liked to learn things. There was no complexity to it at all.
He did view himself as a rather simple creature as well. Skirting past life blandly, not over or underachieving. This was usually a depressive thought, and would bring him down. But now, it motivated him. He wanted to be more than what he was. Blue wanted to mean something to someone. He wanted to be another person's lifeline, he wanted to depend and be depended on.
Blue smiled a little at these thoughts. Shifting his gaze from the hospital bed sheets to Liam's light, sky blue eyes, the smile didn't fade. No thoughts crossed his mind at this point, and he slipped his glasses back onto his eyes so he would be able to read Liam's text. -
sorry had to food shop xC
yeah good thing they seem terrifying
Liam observed the page, eventually taking the pencil and starting in his normal, print handwriting. It was straight and condensed, almost as though he wanted as many words to fit on the same line as possible. He worked at a reasonable pace, letting the words bleed onto the page as fast as he could. As he did so, he would allow his eyes to flick over what he already had on the page, making sure that it sounded correct in his head. He rubbed the back of his neck as he finished up, setting the spiral notebook down on the hospital bed. It read,
I hope you're alright. I know I keep saying it, but I really hope you're okay. I am here if you need anything. I know we just met and all, but I'm here. I promise. Also, my uncle is sending me some of his stuff from Montana. When it comes, it would be cool if we opened it together! I want you to see some of the stuff he had. That would be a nice way to hang, I think. Also, maybe we could sit around a bonfire thing that we have in our backyard. It seems fun. Only if you want to, though.
Liam hoped that Blue wouldn't ask about his uncle. He didn't want to admit that he was dead just yet. By leaving it as though he was still safely tucked away in a safe home, the pain would hurt a little less. His parents had constantly asked about it since they set off from Montana. He reassured them that he was fine, he'd be alright. Liam was the type that would only let himself hurt in private unless it came to the thunder. If he was really upset, he'd cry when he was by himself. Right at that moment, however, giving everything he could to Blue was his main priority. -
Ahh is okay lol
"I'm okay for now, Liam. Just nervous." He told him, honestly. Blue didn't want to rant too long, or go into too much depth about his problems. It would be better if he didn't know, anyways. "And both of those seem like really good ideas~" A slight smile spread across his pale face.
Blue then continued on to say, "My brother and sister are pretty nice. You'll like them. My sister, Rouge, is very poetic but can be a little naive sometimes. Jaune is my brother. He's really optimistic, and is very sociable. He loves animals." Blue told him this just to give him a bit of a warning. "But they won't be here for a while. I hope you don't have much to do today.." He said, a little bit sadly. "The doctors might want to run some tests later, and the most you're allowed to do is watch. You can't be in the room since you're not family."
Blue knew all of this too well. Once, as a kid, he got quite cross since Rose couldn't be with him while he had an x Ray. at the time, they had scared him a lot, and going into the "operation" alone terrified him. Blue recalled coming out of the room bawling, just as he had came in. Luckily, that fear left around age ten. -
goodie :)
What's up
Liam clapped for a second or so before allowing his hands to drop once again. He gave a pat to Blue's knee once again, and he stopped there. He did not want to over step the other boy's boundaries. He wasn't sure what they were and what he was permitted to do. He replied on the paper, That's alright. I may or may not have to go home sometime later. My dad is patient for the most part. My mama, on the other hand, nooot so much. He wasn't lying, either. His mother adored the idea of a set, organized schedule. That was how he maintained his sleeping patterns and was so punctual almost all the time.
He then wrote, Also, the x ray thingy mabopper is okay. I'll just stand outside if I have to. He, in all honesty, didn't want to do that at all. Keeping by and on guard for Blue sounded much more appealing to him. Becoming so protective over the other in such a short period of time made his mind bobbled. The reasons for this befuddled him as mentioned previously, he had never been in a relationship.
Marina had tried to get him to kiss her when they'd just begun being friends. She'd gotten in front of him, egged him on, asking if he'd ever even kissed a girl on the cheek. He'd shaken his head repeatedly, and it had taken too long for him to convince her to stop. Thankfully, she eventually got the memo and didn't coerce him into doing anything. -
Just sitting around
Blue grinned a little. "We should hang out this weekend. I mean, my house isn't very special, but I can show you around town.." Then a more solemn thought came into his mind. "...oh. Sorry I wasn't able to take you to the library today. I kind of not-so-spontaneously almost died." Blue didn't feel right about mocking his own attempt at suicide; he knew it was "wrong". However, it was the only way he knew how to deal with the complicated situation.
He felt selfish, indeed. These seemed to be a common theme for him. He was sick with himself. He could have died today. Blue could have collapsed on the floor and never awoken. He could have went into comatose and never returned. He could of had a heart attack then and there. His organs could have slowed down and he would have been in the hospital for days or weeks, waiting for the sweet release of death.
No, stop thinking of what could have happened. Focus on what is happening. I'm so delusional. Liam is here. I'm in the hospital. I'm going to get better. I have to get better. I'm tired of living this life. I've said this a million times; this was the last time. This was the last time he'd disappoint his mother. This was the last time he'd wake up in a hospital bed. This was the last time he'd get marked tardy for being in a hospital. This was the last time he'd feel it was upon himself to extinguish himself from the world. This was the last time he'd go to rehab. I've done these things too many times; this is the last.
His eyes returned to Liam after finishing a lot of deep thought. He pushed his glasses back up his nose, chuckling lightly.
