"Aw, come onn.. It's not like I would know her, anyways. I'm not from your pack, you know," She persisted, but only in the joking kind of way. Nevaeh whined a bit at the mention of waiting, but nodded. "Oh, alright.. Hey, about Aniel.. If his parents are both dead, why hasn't anyone taken him in? He's such a sweet little boy," She spoke inquiringly, wanting to know more. Nevaeh didn't notice it yet, but she was beginning to grow fond of Rhonen.
-
"Everything in time, little huntress. I know you're not from her, but we also aren't a huge society." He teasingly splashed a little bit of water on her and rolled his eyes at her impatience. "We want you to turn into a wolf, not an ogre." Rhonen frowned at the mention of the pup and sighed. "I honestly don't know. Rayne usually takes care of him, but she doesn't always have the time to. He is a very nice boy, but.. I guess everyone is either expecting or they have their own pups to raise. And we actually don't know if his father is dead. No one knows anything about where he could be, just that he's been gone for years. Aniel's happier than I've ever seen him. At least before you yelled at us, but he'll get over it once we go back."
-
"I'm not a huntress anymore," She huffed and turned to face him, pressing close, loosing all regard for her fear towards his kind. "We can turn into ogres? How cool. I didn't know," She hummed, swaying a bit, staring at him. "I'll make up for it. I'll teach him how to tie knots or something.. Which, by the way, is useful information, because you can also learn how to undo them to get out of traps.." She trailed, keeping her eyes on his, before looking away, blushing for no reason at all.
-
"You could still hunt food, if you really wanted to." His breath hitched when she pressed against him and reached up to gently take hold of her forearms. He'd thought about holding her waist, but felt it would be too personal. "Not cool. The ogre you would turn into would be a huge, uncontrollable monster. And only humans that allow themselves to be overcome with their emotions turn into them. To be a wolf, like us, we'll put you in an enviornment where you'll achieve euphoria. Once you've been able to turn once, it'll become easier to turn without being in a state of pure tranquility." He gave her a look and buzzed his lips. "I have claws, sweetheart. Your metal traps are the ones we need to learn to pry out of when we're not at full strength."
-
"I can?" Nevaeh loved hunting, and the idea excited her. She smiled at him, leaning on his chest again, telling herself that she only did it to keep her balance because of her ankle, but it wasn't completely true. This time, though, she didn't flinch at his touch. "..Mm. I see. Euphoria. How is that usually caused?" She listened closely, but still wanted to know more about her future. "Oh.. That reminds me, I should probably go spring those traps, so that no one gets hurt. And if it's closer to the New Moon, you might not be able to use those claws," She explained, humming softly. "And still. Knowing how to tie knots can be useful."
-
"Of course. We'll even show you how to once you can change." Rhonen brought a hand to her back, as if trying to hold onto her for as long as possible. His heart ached to tell her, but he knew it wasn't the right time. "Euphoria is a state of intense excitement or happiness. To acheive this state, at least, you must surround yourself with thoughts of good memories, dreams, ideas, anything that makes you feel joy. You must be content and remove all negativity from yourself. You will be alone during this, so no one can bother you. Now, when you're a wolf, you will look like one, head and all. You can walk on two legs, or run on all four. It's all about preference. And the New Moon has ended. The cycle has started for the Full Moon, but it will be a while before it's full." He grinned at her playfully. "Fine. You can use vines to teach us to tie knots."
-
"I prefer hunting with my bow," She mumbled, staring at those eyes again. There certainly was something about him. Like Aniel, her heart held no hate for him, and possibly something else. There was a strange feeling that she got, looking at him, one that made her cough and look away. "I.. Don't have a lot of happy memories. Oh, you know who you remind me of? My housemate, Ella. She hates violence, always sticking up for people who can't do it for themselves. So quick to forgive, and so willing to help.. I'm never going to get to see them again, am I? My girls? I don't suppose you care, but.. There's four of them. The five of us, we all live together. Other than me and Lynna, they're all younger than twenty. One's pregnant, and the other two are just.. Well, alone. I hope Lynna'll be able to care for them," She rambled, still staring at them. She was trying to divert her mind from the want to be closer to him, but it just wouldn't let her.
-
"You could do that. Hunters won't bother trying to kill you if they just think you're a plain nature girl." He stared down at her, trying to ready what she was thinking. He wanted to know what was going on in her head. And when she began to talk about her home before she came to hunt them, Rhonen wrapped her in his arms and leaned over to bury his face in her hair. "...One day, I'll take you there myself. When you're under control and stable, I will take you to see them. If they make you happy, I'll gladly take you to them. But I need you to be patient and fight through this change. Even with the few happy memories you have, use them. Imagine anything that makes you happy, you can imagine the future if you want to. Whatever fills you with joy and contentment."
-
"I could probably do that. And trade off the fur for money to send back to my girls.." She inhaled when his face was so close, but it wasn't to kiss her. Still, she liked his breath on her hair, his body against hers. It made her feel.. So calm. "Aniel. Aniel makes me happy," She admitted, smiling a little. "After meeting him.. I was going to tell the king that I hadn't found you all, because of his innocence.. He's just so sweet, Rhonen." Nevaeh really was growing the love the little child.
-
"I'm sure someone will help you skin them. We do that for bedding and blankets sometimes." He smiled at the love Nevaeh clearly had for Aniel, and from that moment, he decided he would do what he knew she would want. After he held her as his life mate, he would make it official that Aniel was their pup for the rest of his youth. "Pups are always like that because they're safe. They're not exposed to the world, and we don't give humans an ill reputation. We don't want them to grow up to hate. We want them to understand. But Aniel..his mother named him well. I was only twelve when he was born."
-
"..I'm offended. I know how to skin an animal." She huffed, shaking her head at him. "He's such a little babe," Nevaeh mumbled, even though they weren't much older than him, she felt like it was only right that she became responsible for him. "They're all that innocent, I suppose, but he's just.. So sweet." Nevaeh turned her head a bit, looking up at Rhonen. He was so, so impossibly close to her. She hadn't had any man this close to her, ever, and it was nice to be able to trust someone.
-
"They can still help you get it done faster." Rhonen laughed and looked into her eyes again, once more trying to read her, and could sense the calm between them. He reached up to push back small fringes of drying hair out of her face, humming a bit. "He wants to help, he always has. Sweet doesn't even begin to cover all the good he does for our pack. Especially for such a young boy. I think that's why Rayne let's hin stay in the medical shelter, so he can help out."
-
"I'm perfectly fine with doing it myself," She hummed, inhaling when he touched her, unknowingly wanting him to kiss her. He wouldn't, of course. She nodded. "He's still.. Yeah. Does he have an interest in medicine?" Nevaeh had always thought that if she hadn't dedicated her life to hunting, she might her perused a career in medicine, but she had never gotten a chance. However, she always had taken an interest in the field, but not much of one, as she never had very much time.
-
"I suppose he does. He works with the easy things, little things like cuts and all that. I know he helps with medicine when other pups catch colds in the winter. He likes doing everything he can, and he will." He could feel his heart race every time they locked eyes and had to look away nervously, reaching up to scratch the side of his face. "Let's get one last dip under water then get back. You probably haven't eaten yet, have you?"
-
"He's perfect," She muttered, almost under her breath. Nevaeh nodded at his question. "I haven't. But, uh, I'm still not very hungry.. I suppose I should still eat, huh?" She pulled away, dunking under the water one more time. She came up pushing the hair away from her face, giving Rhonen a small smile. She was still wearing his shirt, but she knew it would stick to her when she got out of the water. "Um.. Try not to look?"
