"I think I can find my way back," she replied, standing. She walked over to the door with him, then smiled up at him once they were back in the hallway. He really was peculiar. "Goodnight, David."
-
He nodded and started walking down the hallways, away from her. After this slightly eventful day, which was just talking to his new guest, he felt tired. He glanced back after a few steps and shook his head. People have changed since the last time he ever laid eyes on them twenty years back. He shrugged and started walking again, the hallway getting darker and darker. The paint changed from the bright gold to a pale gray. He pasted fightening statues and demonic figures that littered the hall to his room.
-
She wandered though the mansion, searching for the room from earlier. It felt like she'd never walked through the same hallway twice, but it also as if she was going in circles. The grotesque statues and murals seemed to be moving throughout the house and mocking the confused guest. Elaine eventually sat down and started to retrace their steps in her head. Now, if only she could find the awful room from earlier... she really should've taken his advice.
After another half an hour or two of wandering, she reached a part of the home that was even more densely populated with statues. Not only did they seem to leer down at her, but many were missing stone arms or legs, parts of torsos or even heads. The carpeted hallway floor beneath her appeared to be clawed to shreds at parts, as did the door that she eventually reached. Nervously running a finger along one of the massive grooves, then pushed open one of the doors and peeked inside. -
David had already slipped into his room and he glanced around. He really needed to replace a few of the ruined pieces of furniture in the room, since he took his anger out on most of the things in the room. He sat down on a side of his bed and looked at his hands, they started changing slightly, causing his to look a bit panicked.
-
Oh, good, this was his room. Then again, she was a little worried about talking to him, and stood there for a minute or two trying to decide if it would be worth it. Eventually, she let out a soft cough. "I know that I said I was fine but I, uh... I can't find my room, David."
-
He jumped a bit hearing her voice, glancing where his door way was and he fought off a sigh. "I'll take you there." He stood up and walked past her, stopping for a moment. "Don't come into this side of the mansion or else." He then started walking again, glaring at the statues as he passed them.
-
She felt like a child, scolded for sneaking out and disobeying her parent's orders. But wince she felt like a child, she may as well act like one. "Why? I mean, I didn't end up there on purpose." Elaine caught up to David and walked beside him, having to practically jog along in order to keep up with his long strides.
-
He glared down at her. "You were the one who kept wondering around the place. You could have said you'd need help finding your room." He grumbled lightly. "Besides your room was just two doors over from where we were." He kept walking until they past the room they were in only a few minutes before and soon found her room. "Here."
-
"Well, sorry. Thanks, and goodnight... again, I guess," she said sheepishly, stepping into the room. She gave him a timid smile then shut the door, her cheeks flushed bright red from embarrassment in the darkness of the room.
Elaine didn't sleep at all that night. -
He sighed lightly and walked back to his room slowly, a slightly upset look on his face. Humans were odd anymore, he didn't want to really deal with the girl anymore, but he would have to deal with her.

(Time skip?)

(Sure.)

(How would he respond to incredibly tired Elaine nearly falling asleep on him)
The next morning, Elaine had every intention of sleeping in. At least, until her phone started blasting her alarm-- Alt-J's "Dissolve Me"-- and woke her up early. She grabbed the phone from where she'd set it last night, clumsily hitting snooze. She then rolled over and fell back asleep, until the alarm went off a second time. It was not only louder, but also Beyonce's "Run the World." Knowing she couldn't let the goddess down, Elaine slowly crawled out of bed.
For a moment she forgot where she was, which filled her with fear. It all slowly came back, and with it, a sense of slight annoyance. -
(I dunno really.*purrs evily* lets find out shall we?)
David didn't really sleep, not like he needed it. All he did was walk the halls as if he was watching something. He'd have to check on Elaine in a few minutes, since he was walking down her hall. He paused near her door and heard some type of...music? He blinked slightly and shrugged, knocking politely and waited. -
Once she'd finally fallen asleep, it had been a disturbed rest that had only lasted an hour or so. It seemed as if bad rest felt worse than none at all. Needless to say, she was exhausted. Hearing a knock on the door, she slowly made her way over, pulling the door open and yawning. The girl looked up at her host drowsily, her hair a fluffy mess that she seemed to not yet be aware of. She hadn't noticed that her room was bright, even through the ancient curtains, the thick snow outside reflecting the early morning sunshine. "Morning," she said, her voice void of emotion. Another yawn broke through.
