Antonio went back to Gorro's wagon, the elephant having calmed slightly but still huffing. The trainer didn't want to get too close, afraid that Gorro would grab him again, so he just tossed the bales of hay at the top of the wagon so that the elephant could grab at them as he pleased. The bales themselves wouldn't be able to get into the wagon unless Antonio opened the door, but he'd be too close to the elephant to do that.
Deciding it was all he could do for now, he went to Lovino's wagon. Even though it might seem suspicious, he really needed to talk to Lovino about getting the wagon flipped back into the right position. Tentatively, nervously, he rapped on the Italian's door. -
Lovino jumped, startled out of his thoughts by a knock at his door. Standing up, he walked over and pulled open the door, scowling. "If you're here to yell at me again, I- oh." He stared at Antonio, who was standing outside the wagon. Taking a moment to regathering his senses, he grabbed the Spaniard's chest and pulled him inside, closing and locking the door behind them. "Are you crazy? What are you doing here? Did anyone see you?" He fired question after question at Antonio, hiding just how glad he was to see him.
-
Antonio stumbled into the room, not having expected Lovino to pull him in like he had. "No, sorry... I don't think so. I just had to talk to you, should I come back later?" He asked, wringing his hands together. Maybe he was just feeling a little on edge about the other preformers seeing him, but he realized he probably should have waited until after dark.
-
Lovino quickly shook his head. "No, no, don't go, I just...What are you doing here?" He asked, tilting his head and looking blankly at the Spaniard. "And what about your arm?" He asked, trying to sound annoyed rather than worried as he examined the bruises.
-
"Oh, it's okay," Antonio held the arm up, so he could see it as well. "Just a bruise, but it could've been worse." He pursed his lips, looking back at the Italian. "Speaking of which, you kind of saved me there."
-
Lovino looked down. "It was nothing. And you pulled me back, so we're even." He bit his lip and looked at the bruises, hesitantly running a fingertip gently over the damaged area. "Does it hurt?" He asked softly.
-
Antonio glanced around for a moment, relieved to see that the single window of the wagon was covered. Then, he looked back at the Italian's finger that was gracing his arm. "Not really," he murmured, slowly moving his arm so that Lovino's fingers were no longer touching his arm, but were held by the Spaniard's own grasp. "We were really close for a minute over there."
-
Lovino's eyes widened and he looked up at Antonio, his fingers curling gently to grasp the Spaniard's hand. "Antonio..." He breathed his name, unsure of what to say next. He'd been so uncertain, but now, with the man standing so close to him, Lovino was sure he cared about Antonio. He didn't want to assume anything, but he couldn't think of any reason Antonio would bring up how close they'd been before...unless he cared for Lovino too.
-
Antonio shuffled a little closer to the Italian. The way Lovino said his name, held his hand, it was a green light- or at the very least, a yellow one- to Antonio that he could continue. "I know it's not exactly the most acceptable thing, but I really, really care for you, and I want to know if you feel the same." As a second thought, the Spaniard quickly added, "And- and if you don't, please don't tell anyone I asked."
-
Lovino blushed deeply, taken aback by the sudden confession. "Antonio, I...I feel the same. But we can't...I mean, we couldn't...be together. It's dangerous." He spoke quickly, slightly flustered, glancing at the window and door, despite knowing both were closed securely. He couldn't help but feel a bit paranoid.
-
Antonio's emotional swing, while Lovino spoke, went from pure bliss to heart-crushing despair. It went from 'I-feel-the-same' to 'we-can't-be-together' in a matter of moments. One second he was grinning, the next he was frowning. Inadvertently, he held Lovino's hand a little tighter. "Not out there, but, we can still be together. Right? In here, and where they can't see, we can still be together," he pleaded.
-
Lovino hesitated, looking and feeling extremely torn. He was literally risking both of their lives, but at the same time, he couldn't just keep denying his feelings. "...Only when no one else is looking, okay?" He replied softly, after a few moments of silence. He but his lip and again felt guilty, knowing he was the one who'd made the normally cheery Spaniard frown.
-
Antonio shifted his feet a bit, nodding. "Mhm. Okay. I promise." He stepped forward, closing the space so that their bodies were pressed together. He put his forehead to the Italian's, murmuring, "I promise I won't ever do anything to put us in danger."
-
Lovino stared, completely captivated by the green eyes that looked at him so passionately. He turned red at the sudden close contact, resisting the urge to stretch up and kiss Antonio. He didn't want to do anything that might ruin this moment, this beautiful moment where it was only Antonio and Lovino and no one else. He

((I'm gonna guess that was a typo cx))
Antonio gazed at Lovino for a few moments, a soft smile spreading on his face. Finally, he was relieved to know that Lovino felt the same way towards him, and was willing to have a secret relationship with him. It took a minute, but he broke the silent stare. "Is it alright if I kiss you?" He asked, not wanting to force anything upon Lovino.
