Lovino blushed, but leaned up to quickly peck Antonio's lips with his own. "See you tomorrow," He said quietly. He felt a little comforted kissing Antonio. It would definitely be a difficult relationship, but he would be more than willing to work for it if it was for Antonio.
-
Antonio smiled, reaching up to brush Lovino's hair behind his ear before stepping towards the door. "See yah," he said, then went out of the Italian's wagon, closing the door quietly behind him.
-
Lovino stood staring at the door for a moment, remembering the feeling of Antonio's fingertips brushing his ear as he pushed back the Italian's hair. He shook his head and smiled a little to himself. "I'm such an idiot, falling in love with a guy like this..." He muttered, falling back on his bed, but he couldn't suppress how satisfied and happy he felt. Antonio felt the same way about him. He'd kissed him.
-
Antonio made the hurried trip to his wagon, going behind the row to avoid the acrobat. He managed to get there, ducking inside from the window he left unlocked on the back wall. With a sigh, he flopped onto his bed, facing the ceiling. It had been such an emotional swing of a day, but at least he knew how Lovino felt about him.
-
The acrobat knocked sharply on Antonio's door a few minutes later, confident that she wouldn't get a reply. She could tell Lovino was hiding something, and she intended to prove exactly what it was. All she had to do was catch them one time, and she'd have enough prof to get the two of them out of the way. Perhaps she'd even inherit the circus. She had been very close to Lovino's mother, after all.
-
Antonio was hurrying to the door, opening it only moments after she kncoked. He looked at her with an innocent, clueless smile. "Yes?" He hummed, one hand holding the door open and the other on the doorway.
-
The acrobat blinked, eyes wide, obviously not expecting an answer. "Antonio...I was just...I didn't expect you to be here." She stammered, feeling slightly annoyed. She had been so sure of what Lovino was hiding, but now she wasn't so sure...
-
"Oh...?" He stared at her, raising an eyebrow. He was trying his best to act clueless without overdoing it. "Did you need something?"
-
"No, no, I just..." She narrowed her eyes. "You've been spending a lot of time close to Lovino lately, haven't you?" She asked. "He's been spending a lot of time around your wagons, and he seems rather nervous when I speak to him." She raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Do you know anything about this?"
-
"Hm, well," Antonio mumbled, then shrugged. "We've been talking about new tricks. For my elephants. You may not have seen but one of them didn't go so well last night, and now my biggest elephant seems to have anger issues. We've just been trying to figure out the show. Why do you ask?"
-
The acrobat crossed her arms. "I'm beginning to wonder if you two are getting too close. I think Lovino may care for you more than he should, and we both know how unacceptable that is. If he were to try anything romantic with you, you know what would happen, right?" She asked, smiling innocently. "I'm just warning you for your own safety and Lovino's. You know he's like a son to me."
-
The elephant trainer's eyebrows knit together, suddenly glaring at the woman. "I'd like to argue that if he was like a son to you, you wouldn't give him up to be hung from a post." He slowly started inching the door closed, stepping backwards into his room. "In any case, I'm sure that a mother would be more worried about him trying to sacrifice his arms to an African elephant."
-
The woman simply smiled again. "Of course I care about him. But just think, to have someone like that running the circus, why, it would be completely unacceptable!" She shook her head. "I'm just telling you to be careful what you let people see, alright?"
-
Antonio sighed heavily, deciding that she'd leave sooner if he pretended to agree. "Of course," he answered gruffly. "I simply can't imagine it."
-
She grinned triumphantly. "I'm glad we see eye to eye on this matter. Good night then." She promptly turned on her heel and walked away from the wagon. She really did care for Lovino, but the thought of him loving another man was simply wrong to her. If he were to be hung, it would be his own fault.
