Antonio shut the door as soon as she turned away, having decided that he was not particularly fond of her. He went back to his bed and laid down, though he didn't go to sleep. The trainer planned to visit Lovino later, once it was well after dark and everyone was back in the wagons.
-
It was growing quite dark out, and the acrobat was on of the last performers to enter her wagon. In his own, Lovino tossed and turned in his own bed. He was exhausted, but he willed himself to stay awake, hoping that Antonio would come back, though he knew it wasn't likely.
-
Antonio waited a good ten minutes before he opened his door a crack, checking for anyone outside. When he didn't, he slinked out, shutting his door behind him. He went back behind the line of wagons, hurrying to Lovino's cabin. He went back around to the front, knocking softly but urgently on the Italian's door.
-
Lovino jumped out of bed almost immediately when he heard the knock. He tried not to get his hopes up as he opened the door, but couldn't help feeling happier as he saw Antonio standing there. He silently gestured for him to come inside.
-
Antonio stepped in past Lovino, staying quiet and refraining from getting too close to him until the door was closed. Once it was, he went up behind Lovino, hugging him and smiling. "We're so sneaky, Lovi, she believed me, I think."
-
Lovino blushed and leaned into the embrace. "She didn't suspect you, did she? I think it's just me she's suspicious about." He hoped it was, he'd hate to have Antonio a suspect as well.
-
Antonio shrugged, giving Lovino one last squeeze before dropping his arms to let the Italian turn around. "I don't think so. But Lovi, if anyone ever finds us, I promise I won't let anything happen to you."
-
Lovino turned to face him and sighed. "It's not me I'm worried about, idiot, it's you." He mumbled. "Knowing that you'd get hurt to protect me just...it worries me even more." He looked down.
-
Antonio bit the inside of his cheek, looking down at Lovino. With a little sigh, he reached for the other's hand. "Then let's just decide that we don't have to worry about it, because we won't get caught."
-
Lovino hesitated, but then he nodded. "Right. We'll just have to be careful." He agreed, squeezing Antonio's hand gently. "It's probably best to meet after dark."
-
"Right," Antonio hummed, leaning down to kiss his forehead. In an attempt to make the short time to visit that he had less about worrying, he said, "Did I wake you up? We can go to sleep, if you want."
-
"No, you didn't wake me up, I was..." He trailed off, blushing slightly. There was no way he was going to say 'I was waiting for you'. He cleared his throat and glanced up at Antonio. "We can sleep if you want to." He said with a soft yawn.
-
Antonio raised an eyebrow, smiling slightly. He wasn't sure what Lovino had been about to say, but whatever it was, it was cute that he got flustered about it. "Sure, since you seem tired. It has been a kind of long day."
-
"Very long." Lovino agreed, moving back to sit on the bed. He moved to one side, making room for Antonio to come into the bed with him, still blushing slightly. "At least no one got hurt." He said, referring to the earlier incident with Gorro.
-
Antonio sat down on the bed beside him. "Yeah. I'm still worried about Gorro, though. Even if there's a way to let him out, he seems really upset over something."
