Lexi loveheart NewbieKayla had her sweater slung over shoulder when she was at the back of the crowd. She smiled at him and did a slight wave. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and looked at it. Wow not a single message what grate friends I have. Or had I guess. She pulled her sweater on and turned back to the stage.
-
"Sidekick? Are you blind, sir? The girl can stretch her limbs! That's hero powers if I've ever seen them. For christ's sake, you made Bristleback a hero, and Bristleback is just a guy with spines coming out of his spine. What the hell coach? I want a second opinion on my mate!" Emily shouted.
-
Lexi loveheart NewbieShe heard Emily's words but refused to look. Why is she doing that? She knows I'm not helping her. But still... She looked own at her phone. Well she's one of the only friends I've got right about now. She walked over to Emily. "Em it's fine, nothing really, I've all ways been more like a sidekick anyways."
-
Raising a finger, Emily told Kayla to be quiet for a moment, before reaching into her bag again. A closer inspection would reveal she didn't have any books, or...anything really. Just more wires, a microphone and a pair of earmuffs. Which she quickly took out.
"Nah, he's always doing bulls--- like this. Today though...today though I'm ready for him. Here, put these earmuffs on, things are gonna get really loud soon."
The crowd wasn't looking at her anymore, enraptured by the next person on stage, but that was good. Emily didn't want to be seen. Hoisting her bag back onto her back, Emily gave a quick nod to Kayla before worming through the crowd again. There was a line of first years waiting on the side of the stage; fairly short, and Emily planted herself at the end of it. -
Lexi loveheart NewbieKayla put the earmuffs on and just pulled up her hood and she wondered what Emily was doing. She felt a vibrate in her pocket but left it for later, her mom would understand, and any 'friend' of hers should be in school. She waited for what was going to happen.
-
Lynne walked into the gym after finally locating it. She had gotten lost a few times. She joined the other first-years. People were being seperated into Hero or Sidekick. Lynne took a deep breath and hoped that she wouldn't feel sick. Her dad once told her that the brain was powerful. If you thought you were sick, then you could actually get sick. So Lynne hoped that her brain was listening to her, and not the nauseous feeling.
-
The last student finally stepped onto stage. He was a spindly thing; flaky, shaky, a textbook example of a fish out of water. That was fine though, Emily knew how he felt. She'd felt the same way when she stood on that stage. After all, when everyone else was flying and throwing lightning, she started dancing. Not a good feeling.
The call of 'hero' went through the room, and Emily realized that she hadn't actually paid any attention to what the kid did. Ah well, it certainly wouldn't come back to bite her on the ass later, she was mostly sure of that. Gritting her teeth and steeling herself for what was to come, Emily walked up on stage.
A small microphone was clutched in her hand, and she could feel the stare of the crowd on her. It really was exactly like she remembered! The coach stared at her, and she just grinned back. Coach Boomer. Real name Thomas Boomowski. Can launch incredibly loud sonic booms from his vocal cords.
Emily waved, "Hey Coach, how ya doing? Listen, you're not gonna like this, but I'm the one that egged your car, spray-painted your office, installed a stripper pole in your bathroom, painted 'disabled parking only' over all fifty teacher parking spaces, flooded the mans bathroom and kicked you in the shins." Emily said. Then she kicked him in the shin.
Most of the crowd simply stared. Nearly all of them couldn't believe what they were seeing. Coach Boomer just appeared to have a blank look on his face as his brain tried to comprehend what was happening. Then it all clicked, and he stepped forward.
"WHAT ARE YOU-" He started, before every window in the gym, and several around it shattered. The sheer force of the sound was enough to make the walls shake and Emily rushed to cover her ears to no effect. Her speakers short circuited and exploded from the vibrations coursing through them, magnifying the coach's shout by a hundredfold. The microphone in her hand snapped in half as the sound finally stopped. Removing her hands, a loud buzzing still filled her ears. She could barely hear herself when she spoke, "Well, that was interesting. Does anyone still have their hearing?" -
Lexi loveheart NewbieKayla took her earmuffs off to hear the last part of what Emily said. Kayla looked at her, and Kayla did something she hadn't done in a wile, a smile and not a fake one she gave her mom or friends, a real genuine smile. And then she laughed and laughed she fell on the ground. She starred up at her and smiled.Maybe this will work... Maybe. Kayla wasn't one for trouble makers but Emily made her smile for the first real, real time in ages, and laugh, and most of all Kayla was somehow comfortable with his girl.
-
Tobi listened to the girl. While he did he rolled his eyes and held his tongue When the coach raised god voice he wasn't as effected by it but still comment. "I think I'm more deaf than I already am. Thanks coach." He stood up. "But. Emily, you shouldn't over react over stuff like this or lose your cool." The principal that was in the door way walked forward. She didn't seem too happy.
"Ah, hello miss Emily." She walked forward. -
Lynne's ears were ringing, but they didn't seem too damaged. She looked at the girl who caused it. Then she watched as the principal entered. In a way, Lynne was thankful that her power demonstration was delayed, even if only for a few minutes. She was stressed but she felt confident. No, more hopeful then confident, but she liked to look at it as confidence.
-
Emily rubbed her ears harder. She was aware that the principal had arrived, like she always did, but Emily was having the hardest time hearing her. The damage wasn't permanent, was it? Emily felt a flash of fear run through her when she realized how much she would miss her hearing, before remembering that at least half a dozen heroes with healing abilities owed her favors.
A shout rollicked out from the crowd from Tobi, amazingly unharmed from standing right next to one of Emily's speakers. "Mate, don't tell me to calm down, my parents are deeeeeeeeaaaaaaad! Or at least, one of them is."
"Principal Powers!" She shouted, mostly to even hear herself over the buzzing in her ears. Mrs Powers did not look happy, but then again, she had a low tolerance for property damage. "Do what you must, Powers! I have already won! I got my revenge, broke some glass and made a friend smile. I'm pretty much done."
As Mrs Powers walked onto the stage and grabbed Emily, she couldn't help but give out one last shout to the crowd before disappearing out the door. "I'll be here all night, ladies and gentlemen. Tell your friends." -
Tobi shook his head after releasing dropping the speaker. He sighed a bit as well. People weren't sure how to react to what just happened. Coach Boomer seemed furious though and kicked a chair. The teen shook his head again. Hard to think one girl caused trouble like that.
After coach was done letting out his frustration on the furniture he stomped up on stage. "OKAY! You've all seen enough. No announcement today and test will resume tomorrow! So just- go to whatever class!" A few students groaned before walking out. One of the principal's aids handed almost everyone their schedules. The students that couldn't resume testing until tomorrow just got stuck in study hall for the day.
Tobi grabbed his bag and received his schedule from the Aid. He proceed to go to whichever hero class he had first which was one that's shared with sidekicks. So he would probably be able to see Kayla too. -
Lexi loveheart NewbieKayla grabbed her bag and waited for a schedule. from someone.
"Here you go." A lady gave her a sheet. Kayla left she found where she was going easily. She stood beside the doorway to wait til everyone who was coming came. She looked around This is with the heroes? That is not a good thing... is it? -
Lynne watched as Principal Powers took the girl out of the room. Then she turned to look and listen to Coach Boomer. She smiled, no more testing today. She would just have to enjoy herself at study hall for the rest of the day.
-
Tobi was walking to the class when his friends joined him. Same with the kid with diamond powers. He smiled at Kayla before entering the room and sitting close to the back with his friends.
