"Zander Cruorem. Thank you for bothering to help, but I don't think this monstrosity will take us where we need to go." He'd always been used to moving by foot through trees and wood, since walking on the 'pavement' felt like a death trap to him. "I guess...I should probably talk to the foreseer again.."
-
"I think my uncle has your brother. I was about to leave and see him on the way to college, since my parents would never let me do that. He's been sending me letters, and his last one had a picture that looked like how you described your brother." Anna rolled his name over in her head, thinking it was strange.
-
"You're just now telling me this?! Why didn't you say that before we even left? I would've found him and handled him myself if that had been the case!" He growled a bit in annoyance and slumped in his seat. "How long until we arrive there then?"
-
"A week, maybe. I'm not sure." She sighed. "I've never been. But I have his address."
-
"Are you..?! Ugh! You're gonna have to let me eat at some point then. I can't go a full week without a little nourishment. Maybe a day or so, but not a week." He kept checking out the window, watching for any signs of daylight.
-
"Does it kill them?" she asked.
-
"I always bleed out a human or they become a newblood. I can also go with animals, but they don't taste as good, and I won't get sick from diseases or anything."
-
"Oh. Hey, do you mind if I turn on the radio?" she asked.
-
"...Again, don't know what that is. And it's your self-moving carriage, so go ahead I suppose."
-
"It's that or me asking you nonstop questions. I need noise when I'm driving at night." She reached forward, and pressed a few of the buttons. Music streamed from the speakers.
-
He hissed softly at the sounds, not really sure what to make off what he was hearing. "Where are the pianos, strings, harps, or even drums? You mortals call this music? Pah!" He scowled, obviously used to classical works and older.
-
"It's sound. You can switch the station though." She pulled the car over to the side of the road. The bank was dark, except for the little shelter the ATMs were in.
-
He cautiously pressed the buttons, after watching her do it, and flinched back in case anything happened. But nothing did. So he experimented with it until he found a station that was playing orchestral music and smiled, leaning back to enjoy it.
-
She smiled a little. "Do you play any instruments?" she asked.
-
"I've played a piano and a viola before. I haven't played in a while though.." He told her as he got comfortable.
