"Whatever. If you want to help," she started heading upstairs, and came back down with the suitcase she'd packed earlier and her car keys, "you can head out and start the car."
-
The vampire cocked an eyebrow at her as he looked at the car keys. "Start the...car? What's a car?"
-
"Never mind. Come on." She lead him outside.
-
He made a face and followed after her, taking in the cool night air. Once he saw the vehicle, he recalled seeing the heaps of moving metal. "So that's a car..I still don't know how you 'start' it."
-
"Keys." She pressed a button on the fob, and the car unlocked.
-
"Keys..." He repeated as he listened to the sound of the car unlocking and saw the lights flash for a second.
-
Anna walked around to the back and put in her suitcase. "Passenger seat's open."
-
Zander walked around to the other side and taped on the glass. He felt around for the doorhandle, very carefully pulling on it as to not accidentally break anything.
-
She looked over at him as he got in, then started up the car.
-
He waited for her to close her door then followed, making sure it was closed. He looked around the interior of the car and watched the dashboard light up when it was started. "Again, you humans have strange devices."
-
"Buckle up. Or not. I don't know how indestructible you are, and I don't care if you die or not, but I could get in trouble if you weren't wearing a seatbelt." She put on hers and started backing out of the driveway.
-
He once again followed her example and jumped as the vehicle began to creep out of the driveway. "Wha?! It's like some strange carriage! But there aren't any horses.."
-
"Kinda," she murmured. "Oh, by the way, I need to stop and get some cash before we go anywhere..."
-
"...I need something to cover up with when the sun comes up.." He flushed from embarrassment, realizing that this moving 'beast' had windows, which meant the sun get in. He looked at her curiously and decided to exchange names before things became even more awkward. "I never asked..But what do people call you?"
-
"Anna. Anna Strokwell. And you?" She started driving the grey SUV down the street. "I think I'll be tired by morning, so we can stop somewhere. I have a blanket in back that you can hide under, and if that's not good enough, the back is big enough.
