Anna folded one of the last shirts she'd grabbed and put it in her suitcase. When she tried to close it, it wouldn't entirely shut, so she climbed onto her bed and sat on the suitcase, forcing it all the way down. Being the oldest in her year had never been easy, but she was excited to finally go to university. She slid off of the suitcase and carried it out into the hallway.
-
The creature of the night swiftly made his way up and into the trees, using the branches to get closer to the window. "Balance...Light as a feather.." He mumbled quietly to himself with a bit of an accent as he breathed deeply and carefully walked across, leaping over to the window. His pale grey-violet eyes peering around inside for any signs of life.
-
Her parents were out that night, off on a date. They did that frequently, to keep their relationship young. She headed downstairs to grab something to eat.
-
Empty. She must've left the room for something, which was fine. She'd be startled by his sudden appearance and hopefully she wouldn't be able to run very far, if she bothered to try or if let her. Quietly opening the window, he peeked in, looking around even more as he made his way in. A modern girl, her room seemed to be normal for this time and age. Still, it was time to continue the waiting game, and Zander sat cross-legged in the middle of the room, watching for any movement at the door.
-
Anna came upstairs loudly, but decently, singing. She held a glass of water in one hand, a plate with a grilled cheese sandwich on it in the other, and a half-empty bag of potato chips under her arm. She nudged open the door with her shoulder, and stood in complete shock when she turned and saw him. There was a man. That she didn't know. In her room.
Then she screamed. -
Zander's ears perked at the loud steps and he tensed a bit, his jaw clamped shut tightly as he watched the door slowly open. As he expected, the young woman was in complete shock at his presence, but once he heard her start to scream, his ears ringing a bit, he jumped up and within a moment had a hand over her mouth. "Silence, woman.." He growled in annoyance.
-
She pulled away from him. "Who are you?! Get out of my house!"
-
He hissed, baring sharp teeth and went to grab her jaw. "You should know by now, huntress. I've come to pay you back for what you and your family has done. You will not live to see your precious sunrise again!"
-
She tried to pull away from him, but couldn't. "I don't know what you're talking about," she grumbled.
-
"You took the only person I had left in this eternal existence. You took my beloved brother, you wrench, so I'm going to make you suffer then bleed you dry."
-
"I don't know who you are..." She gave up on struggling.
-
"Comical. I remember you attacking us and we got separated, then I couldn't find him anywhere. What did you do with him?" His eyes narrowed, reflecting anger and pain.
-
"I don't know who or what you are, really," she confessed. She remembered she was still holding her food.
-
-
"I saw you...There's no way it wasn't.." He began to doubt himself as he searched her expression and eyes for any signs of deception. "I was even told to come here by the foreseer. How can it not be you when one who sees all said to come here, and I recognize you?" He let her go, so she could eat, but still remained tense in case she ran.
