She nodded. "I do. It's a few miles ahead."
-
"Will we be there in time..?" He asked, a bit worried since the sky was even lighter now.
-
Se nodded, and pulled off. It was a long, dirt road that really only had room for one car. Halfway up, there was a clearing connected to the road that looked like it had been driven on, but not for a while. "There's a cemetery up ahead, we had to go for some history thing or whatever in third grade. Help me put down the backseat." She hopped out of the car and opened the back door, where she folded down one of the seats and got the second one ready to fold down as well.
-
Zander carefully climbed out, after struggling with the seat belt a bit, and went back to help her. He watched how she put the first seat down and helped with the second the best he could. "...If I train you, I want you to teach me all about the modern day world. I stopped keeping track."
-
She nodded. "That's fair." Then she climbed in through the door and shut it, scooting into the very back of the car.
-
He settled in, finding a nice spot that he felt would protect him from the sun a bit. He also the blanket and pulled it over himself, peeking out at Anna. "I don't need sleep, but I suppose I can do it just for the joy and relaxation of it."
-
She smiled a little, grabbing the other blanket from her suitcase. "Promise you won't kill me in my sleep?"
-
"Sleep int he sun and you won't have to worry." He smirked playfully, teasingly. "Just don't be trying to stake me now."
-
"I thought we agreed I didn't know how." She slid the suitcase into the space legroom in the back seats then curled up under her own blanket.
-
"Anyone can take a stake and pierce a monster like me through the heart with it. Enough talk. You should rest.." He looked up at the lightening sky and grumbled, pulling the blanket over his face to keep the light out.
-
"Wait." Anna grabbed a little stack of letters from her suitcase and pulled out the second to last one. "Here. You probably shouldn't read any of the others, but this one has the picture of your brother. She slid it under the blanket, then wasn't sure if he could see in the dark. She reached into her suitcase and pulled out a flashlight.
tell me i'm not the only one who puts a flashlight in their overnight bag wherever they go -
(Not as bad as your parent making you take a flashlight when you walk in the morning to school, when you're a junior. .-.)
He pinched the letter carefully as he took it from her then reached back out to grab the flashlight. He felt his hand burn slightly and hissed, quickly pulling it back under the blanket. He turned on the handheld light and took out the picture to examine it. "..Yes...That's Kayle alright.." Zander sighed sadly as he put the picture back in the envelope and turned the light off, rolling it out and slipping the letter back out. -
What time do you walk to school at? o.o
"I'm sorry," she whispered, taking back both items. -
(Sun doesn't come up until like 8 in the winter. I leave for school between 7-7:10)
"It's not your fault your family's a bunch of hunters that take innocent creatures for game just because we're not 'holy' or 'God's children' like the rest of you. Most of these hunters are religious whack-jobs with too much time on their hands." -
Ohhh... Can't really relate because I'm already on the bus at 6:30 and the sun's rising.
She sighed. "I don't know why I wanted to be one so badly... My cousin was in training the second time I met with her, and she made it seem so... fun. My brother was going to do the same thing I was about to do, too."
