Kazuki stayed where he was, studying his nails. Of course he couldn't know she was still here without actually looking for her, but he was just fine with just standing there a while anyway. There was nothing here to make him feel like he needed to keep his mouth shut just so he wouldn't piss someone off.

Riot woke up, and crawled out from under the desk. He paused, staring at Kazuki, and yawned widely.
He meowed, curious. -
Kazuki heard a loud, sharp shriek that lasted about the whole of two seconds, and, as his heart slowed down from the fright of the cat's assault, he realized it had been him. He placed a tentative hand on his chest as if it would help to calm his rapid pulse.
"Go." he hissed at the cat. "Shoo!" -
Riot, unfazed, walked over, purring, tail waving.
Loralei watched from behind the bookshelf. -
"No! Go away!" Kazuki backed away from the cat, holding his hands out defensively.

"Riot, quit nothing him." Loralei called.
Riot, hearing her voice, ran over to her, meowing. -

Kazuki kept his hands up as he turned to watch the beast go again, just in case it was a false retreat. He stared after it with suspicion in his eyes.

"Why are you afraid of him. He's harmless."Loralei asked, holding Riot in her arms as she walked out from behind the bookshelves. "He can't even catch mice. He's a big sweetie."

Kazuki felt himself bristling up as she approached, cat in arms.
"I'm not afraid of it. I just don't like it." he growled, his eyes never leaving the furry heap. -
"Uh huh... Well then, why don't you like cats?" She asked, happy about the fact he couldn't mess with her if she held the cat.

"I just don't like them. They're stupid. Just like you."
Wow. Great insult, Kazuki. -

Ignoring the insult toward herself, she smiled slightly "And how many cats have you met, might I ask?"

Kazuki made a pouty face again.
"Just the one.." he muttered bitterly. "But it's vicious. Look at that blood-thirsty gleam in its eyes."
