Kazuki frowned. About 87% of his options for fun things to do with this girl had vanished the moment she got down from the ladder.
"Prob'ly not." he answer sulkily. -
"Oh...um, well, just tell me if you need help." She said, curious as to why he seemed upset but smart enough to know she needed to get back to work. She turned to start returning more books.
Riot padded off toward the desk, tail twitching. -
Kazuki stared after her, eye twitching. This was so dull. He followed after her, arms crossed.
"What are you doing in here?" he asked with a hint of accusation in his voice. He'd sure as hell never seen her here before. -
"Me? I work here." She responded, blinking as she turned around to him. "Why are you here?" She countered, a little annoyed.
-
Kazuki narrowed his eyes.
"I live here. How can you work here and not know that?" He echoed her annoyance as best as he could. -
"I meant in the library. No one comes here." She sighed, setting the books down on a table, then turning back to face him.
-
He blinked, tilting his head.
"Oh. I dunno. Not like I'd come here on purpose or anything." he swept his gaze dramatically over the library and smirked as if the gesture confirmed his overall dullness. -
"Of course." She opened her mouth to add something, but shut it quickly and turned to glance at Riot, then back at Kazuki.
"Do you like cats?" -
*it's overall dullness whoops poor Kazuki ewe
Kazuki blinked, glancing down at the cat.
"No." he answered flatly, without really thinking about it. At least, he was sure he wouldn't like them. The only kind of animal he'd ever really dealt with was a horse, and his just happened to be a b----. -
"Oh." She said. She had hoped he'd answer yes, as the cat wasn't really supposed to even be in the castle.
Riot yawned lazily, then weaved his way around Loralei's legs, purring. -
Kazuki glared at the cat. It looked vicious.
"Is that thing even allowed in here?" he remarked disgustedly. He looked over the room again, just to make sure there was nothing he could possibly do. -
Instead of responding, she walked over to pick up a couple books, said "I have to get back to work" then began returning them to the shelves. As she grabbed the last two, she moved the ladder to another set of shelves and climbed up it, moving books around.
-
Without really thinking, Kazuki saw his chance and lurched toward the ladder, grabbing hold of it and grinning again.
"Work is boring. We're gonna play a game instead." -
Loralei gripped the shelf tightly, looking down at Kazuki like he was crazy. "What?"
-
He smiled up at her.
"I'm gonna shake this ladder and you're gonna hold onto it and try not to fall." he said.
