A human baby\fetus\life; or whatever you want to call it, is physically worthless. In fact, the mother, the father, the siblings of the child, and every other person on this planet is worthless. Life is worthless physically.
Energy exists in the universe, and structrual expansion occurs, to what end we're unsure but the truth is, humanity plays no large part in comsological affairs. So no, the baby has no inherint right to live, nor can it make any inherintly valuable impact on the world if it does.
The value to life is always generated by emotional opinion. while mobs of people get together and agree on a certain thing, forming social opinion, individuals have varying values to place on life. The natrual order is that each individual decides whether or not they agree with social opinion and how much social pressure they're willing to take to stay true to their personal morality.
Life is inherintly pro-choice in all matters, but unlike the state of nature, society is about mutual benefit through common interest and laws. To that end, a society cannot function when goverment is ruled by mob. The problem then, that arises with Pro-life sentiment is that the basic principal that life has value, is a christian one. Even the large part of athiest who arive at the conclusion that life has value have arived by using christian morality. This sort of massive cultrual penetration is unhealthy for a goverment to adapt because the agenda does not have the well being of the people in mind. It does not have ecanomic prosperity in mind, in fact, it has nothing in mind but furthering it's own propagation. And to be clear: I'm it is healthy for a goverment to value life, but not for a divine, or moral sentiment, but for the real effect on society a life can have.
because of the driving force behind pro-life, it is not only a personal choice but a socially counterproductive concept. -
If you think about it, fetuses aren't even counted as people in court until it's born. Just food for thought.

I can answer that one.
Because while life in general is meaningless, you create your own self worth. The only purpose in life is the one you give yourself. If you do not deem something as valuable to you then it will never be valuable to you. -

Look at it this way;
Even in your logic, if someone murders someone else, they found their life to be worthless. They hold no value for it. And so they took it. That is their perception of the value of someone else's life.
What Slim was trying to explain is that all life is worthless until we put a value to it. Even with you Geek, if you had to kill someone you would probably pick someone who you don't like over a friend. This is because you put more value in the life of your friends and family than you do someone else.
Value is a man made perception. And only once we've realized that can we, on an individual level, decide if abortion is moral or not.
I personally do not see a clump of cells in the womb as valuable. That is MY perception of the value. While I do try and explain that to you, I'm not trying to force the world to share my view. -
I'm a bit confused on the subject. I've read a lot on Tumblr about how a growing baby within a woman's womb is a parasite that could not survive without her, and how pregnancy does not change a person into a mere vessel- that it's their body, and they should have a choice.
Then again, with my particular sense of morals, I would think it to be murder. As much as I believe that, I can't help but think what the pro-choice arguments say is accurate. It is your body.
Another argument to consider is the debate as to where it becomes a living being. There are those who scream that the baby is a living being from conception.
There are others who say that it has to be a certain amount of weeks or moths before it can be classified as such.
I learned in Biology that living things are classified as anything that grows and develops, reacts to it's environment, gathers and uses materials or energy.. And by those standards, it is.
I guess this is all a really mixed up attempt of saying I have no idea where I stand on this. I know that I, myself, would never do that, just because the thought always brings me to, "This baby will be a person, and that person can be something great."
