Jenifer closed her eyes. "Alright." She finally whispered. She knew, that her mother would hit her more when she got home, but didn't care. It's not like she could get anymore hurt then she already was.
-
(Ello?)
-
"We still have the two air mattresses downstairs. It could be just like when we were younger." He smiled, his eyes lighting up. "We could make popcorn and watch movies... This'll be great!"
-
She smiled. "Yeah!" She agreed, remembering all the times they stayed up late watching horror movies.
-
"We can raid the kitchen, too. I know where my mom keeps all the candy." He was genuinely excited, for he didn't get to spend much time with Jenifer.
-
Unholyangel NewbieShe grinned. "Remember we would always do that and you're mom would yell at us?"
-
Christopher nodded and chuckled a bit. "Yup. She sure loves her Peppermint Patties and chocolate bars." He heard a knock on the door, followed by the opening of it. His mother stood in the doorway.
"Is Jenifer sleeping over?" Her son nodded in response. "Alright, let me get the basement set up. You know where everything is." With that, she receded back into the hall, closing the door behind her. -
Unholyangel NewbieJenifer laughed. "Yeah."
-
"Are you hungry?" he asked, glancing at the clock. It was about five o'clock. "We can order some pizza or something."
-
She nodded. "Pizza sounds wonderful."
-
"Extra cheese?" he picked up his cell phone and started to dial the local pizza parlor's number. Chris hadn't eaten pizza in the longest time; he'd been put on a special diet to keep his immune system at its highest strength. One night won't hurt, he thought.
-
She grinned and nodded. "You know it." She said, lying down on his bed.
-
He put in their order under his name, then hung up the phone. "Should be ready in twenty minutes, according to the girl on the phone." He smiled and lay back as well, resting his head on his arms. "How's school been? I was planning on going back not too long from now, if things start getting better."
-
She looked over at him and made a face. "How do ya think it's been? Boring, bullies, I'm failing English...So the same, basically."
-
"Wait... Whoa, whoa, whoa. You? Failing English? You're practically the best writer on this planet. Who's the teacher now? She must be illiterate." He scowled, racking his mind for reasons that she might be failing. When he had left school in 10th grade, Jenifer had been excelling in language arts.
