She grabbed another piece of toast before heading out the door. -

Christopher followed her out of the front door, closing and locking it behind them. He couldn't help but have butterflies in his stomach due to his return. "Here we go... School. Never thought I'd be back," he chuckled nervously. -

"It's going to be fine, Chrissy. Okay?" She said, taking one of his pale hands in hers. -
Chris looked up, meeting her gaze. "I hope you're right."

She smiled at him. "I am."

He smiled back. "Will I still be in all of your classes like last year, or did they move everything around?"

"Hm, probably. I do have to get all of your work. The damn teachers can't cut down on it." She laughed slightly.

He let out a small laugh. "I should do as much work as anyone else. They're treating me as they would if I wasn't sick. In a way, that might be better."

"Well, it be better if they cut it down on everyone. We have lives, they should know." She joked.

He shrugged. "Maybe they're socially inept, so they take it out on us. Kind of like wishing your own problems onto others? I don't know. That's just a thought." The school was coming into view up the street.

She laughed. "Or they like making kids suffer." She said as they neared to school.

"That's probably it," he replied, shaking his head. "Rotten souls, they are..."

She sighed dramatically. "Terrible to put kids through this."
