The army stopped a few hundred feet away from the line that lead into the cat demons land. My father called upon the troops, telling them to set up camp here. This is pointless, cat demons are the weakest clan I've ever seen, we don't need a camp. I thought.
-
Caaguru felt an ominous chill run up her spine- a conflict to come.
Who can blame them? The leader's of other clans think that we are pathetic. Other demons have made jokes surrounding us! The name of our leader is used to describe a weakling.
Her thoughts paused there, shifting to a satisfying remembrance of her mother's true strength- the stars she had seen her mother cause. The scars she had caused. The other packs knew nothing of this war-machine instinct they had. Their tactics, their strength.
"Like they don't exist!" she chuckled to herself. If she could make herself think this way, she could forget the dread of the oncoming fight. -
I sighed and leaned against a near by tree. Making some fire pop up and playing with it. Making it dance around my fingertips. I smiled slightly.
-
Caaguru waited, certain that the attacking demons woul be here soon. She occupied her time using her claws to cut a piece of wood into the shape of a cat. The finishing product did not satisfy her, so she gave it one angel wing, one demon wing, long claws, and fierce fangs.
-
I let the fire go up into the air and burn a leave on the tree. soon that fire spread and the whole branch was on fire.
-
Caaguru suddenly smelled burning. She forgot about the demonic cat clutched tightly in her grasp, and rushed toward the scent.
She burst into a clearing, and stood there, eyes wide, at the burning Aona Passion Tree. The poisons of the flowers were leaking off in dangerous billows of smoke, into the sky above. Above the fire demon standing below. -
I smiled as the tree burned. Look out, kitty-cats, Alexandra id on her way. Of course being me, I had to go in there alone.
No games... My father's words came back to mind. But i pushed them away. -
Caaguru's eyes grew wider and wider at the cloud of poison in the air. She almost forgot the fire demon was there. Her lips moved, but she couldn't speak. she couldn't even scream.
This would poison their birds.. their prey.. kill many of their life sources.
Put it out! I need to put it out!
She couldn't move, though. Her hand just held more and more tightly onto the demonic cat. -
I smelled something. Poison. Son of a b----! I thought moving away from the tree. I continued to let the beautiful fire burn thought.
-
Caaguru noticed the demon leaving. She cannoned into the clearing, her ability to move suddenly returning. She ran to the tree.
The flowers are poison.. the leaves are medicine.. We lose food and medicine! I can't let it burn!
She stopped at the trunk and looked around for something to fix it with. She hoped the fire demon would just leave now. She needed to focus on this now.. -
I heard something and turned around. A cat demon. A sly smiled reached my lips. "Aw, poor kitty lost her mommy?" I purred, playing with her.
-
Caaguru turned to face the demon. She wondered if ehr mother would want her to play weak. She decided on yes. Her eyes shifted to the tree.
But first I take care of this.
"No. I know where my mother is." she said quietly, glancing around again.
I could have sworn there was a stream near here! -
I rolled my eyes. "Then go run to her, this is where the "big kids" play." I taunted again. Making some more fire dance around my fingertips.
-
Caaguru looked again to the fire demon, stifling a laugh.
"Actually, it's our territory. We play here. You don't come here." she said bitterly. She knew that the way she was dressed, her childish eyes, everything she did was making her seem weak.
But it wasn't her job to show off the secret abilities of her clan.
"I've no time to escort you away. Please see yourself off." -
I laughed bitterly. "Yeah, okay there buddy, it wasn't my chose to come here, so if you want to fight all of us," I said pointing at the camp. "you're welcome to."
