Mai raised her eyebrows. "Jealous? Of me?" she was shocked. "The lesbian girl who everyone finds something to hate about.... You're kidding, right?" -

"Well, no." Kawa said, "You've always had good grades, you have a nice house, money to help you when you're forced to buy things for school." -

Mai didn't quite understand. "Is everything okay out of school?" she asked. She was genuinely concerned. -
Yes, yes you are
"Oh, y-yeah. Don't worry about it." Damnit, Kawa, you nearly let out your little secret! -
Mai stopped walking and looked at Kawa. "You sure?"

"Positive."

Mai nodded. "Okay..." She still didn't quite believe her.

"So, have you finished your history report on Ancient civilizations in Europe and Asia yet?" she asked, canging the subject.

"Almost done. Just gotta edit it. You?"

"Nearly there, just a few more sentences."

"Cool," Mai replied. She noticed a large rock overlooking the pond. "Hey, wanna stop there for a bit?" she pointed towards the rock.

"Okay." Kawa replied.

Mai climbed to the top of the rock and stood for a second, letting the wind tickle her face. Then she sat down next to Kawa.
