Mai chuckled a bit at Kawa's remark.

Kawa not only heart Mai chickle, but hear several other snickers and giggles from various parts of the room.

Mai felt a hint of an urge to smile after hearing other people chuckle. Then she realized they weren't supporting her like Kawa was. They just jumped on the oppurtunity to badger people.

She glared at the others laughing, and focused her attention on the teacher.

Mai zoned out for the rest of class. None of this stuff mattered to her. She had an older sister. She walked in on her and her boyfriend once. After that, she knew it all.

It was boring stuff, especially to Kawa. She didn't plan on having sex anytime soon. In fact, she didn't plan on dating anytime soon. It was to complex, to risky.

Mai started thinking a bit. What was so bad about being lesbian anyway? She was still a person, just her sexual interests were different. That shouldn't have any impact on what others think about her. She wondered how everyone found out. She made it a point to keep it a secret. The only person who knew was her sister...

But, never the less, she concentrated on paying attention. Though really, if she were to date-no, pay attention.

Mai couldn't help but wonder why Kawa had this sudden obligation to stand up for her.

The bell then rang, and there was a mad dash to get to the lockers snd go home. No doubt they had dates and double dates and triple dates planned.

Mai took her time getting ready. She picked up her books and sat there for a while, just thinking.

Kawa stood and helped the teacher clean up as she normally did just before leaving for the day

Mai let her blue hair fall in her face. She sighed and couldn't stop wondering why she was so different.

"You okay?" Kawa asked, walking over to Mai.
