Mai looked up. "Same as always, I guess." She wasn't used to talking that much, so her voice was quiet and weak.

"I-I was wondering if you'd like to, uh, hang out later." she said, voice acually sounding a bit timid.

Mai smiled. "Okay. Want to meet at the park, or.."

"The park sounds nice." Kawa smiled, "What time?"

"Anytime's fine. I'll pretty much be there all night," Mai shrugged. "How about 5ish?"

"Perfect, see you then." Kawa said, smiling and going to her locker.

"Yeah," Mai smiled and went to her locker. She packed up her backpack and walked home.

Kawa placed her homework in her satchel, and decided to take the short route home. She wanted to complete her assignments quickly.

Once in her house, Mai headed up to her room and changed into denim shorts and a black tanktop. She pulled her hair up into a ponytail and started on her homework.

"You look happy today. Something good going on in school?" her mother asked. "Oh, just meeting someone at the park today." Kawa replied, making her way to her room. Once there she wasted no time in getting her work done.

Mai couldn't help it, her thoughts constantly drifted off to Kawa.

Afterwards, she changed into gray shorts and replaced her knee socks and boots with sandles.

The digital clock on her nightstand displayed 4:45. Time for her to head over. It was about a 15 minute walk from her house.

"Bye Mama, heading out now!" Kawa yelled, shuting the door and nearly running to the park.

Mai waited by the park entrance, humming a bit.
