Jayden forced a smile. Once she disappeared the smile was gone. He walked into Chester's room quietly.

Chester was still sleeping.

Jayden read through it, glancing at Chester every once in a while. Why the hell didn't he tell me this?!

Chester stirred awake. He was a little surprised that Jayden wasn’t in his arms when he woke up, but didn’t think too much of it when he noticed his boyfriend. He smiled and rubbed his eyes. ‘Good morning, my love.’

"Morning." Jayden muttered, not looking him in the eye.

Chester sat up. ‘You okay?’

Jayden didn't answer, giving him the newspaper. "Explain yourself. Now."

Chester frowned slightly. He took the newspaper and read through it, face paling when he saw the picture. He panicked and put it down, standing up and grabbing Jayden’s hands. ‘Love, it’s not what it looks like.’

Jayden pulled his hands back. "Then what was it?" He snapped.

‘She just grabbed me and kissed me! Sh-She must’ve let a photographer into the gardens!’ Chester said desperately. ‘I-I swear, I didn’t reciprocate or anything!’

Jayd noticed the desperation in his voice, but couldn't tell if it was because he was trying to cover his tracks, or if he was telling the truth. "That's not what the photo shows." He mumbled eventually. The photo was of when Beatrice pushed him closer, but it was angled to look like he was leaning into her.

Chester looked at the photo again, all hope disappearing. Why would Jayden believe him? He had kissed her then lied about it. ‘It was when she yanked me! P-Please, Jayden, you’ve got to believe me.’

Jayden wanted to believe him so, so badly. "Why did you hide it from me?" He mumbled.

Tears filled Chester’s eyes. He wiped them furiously, mad at himself for crying. Why would he be crying? ‘I was scared you were going to get mad at me and leave.’

Jayden frowned. "I told you about Benji. Why would I react any different to this?" Unless you liked it. Or you're lying to me...
